Difficult to rate for me. I can‘t be as “objective“ or as open-minded as usual.

It‘s not only that teenie-problems-universe. It‘s that I don‘t like most of the characters. They are all too unreasonable and I perfectly stick to Sara‘s father. I can‘t be tolerant. So it‘s no surprise that I don‘t like the end.

But I definitely honour the effort to deal with this subject. It‘s not the book‘s or author‘s fault that I am prejudiced.

My share of today‘s #grateful21

👨🏻‍⚕️ That I am as healthy as I can be and that my blood values got better because I lost weight – even if that wasn‘t the reason why I wanted to slim

☀️ That I found time and place to squeeze in a good share of reading into today

🧓🏼 For those moments where I notice that my mother and me treat each other like grown-ups and are no longer in that exaggerated “kid-grown-up”-relationship

Each year the same dilemma in early springtime:

Clean 🧼🧹 the balcony for an hour to afterwards have no more time for reading or ignore flower dust and polls and enjoy an hour of sunny reading❓🤔

Guess what I chose … 😇

That moment …

… when they have iced drinks in your current read – and you need a few seconds to realise that the story takes place in September heat.

And you yourself are more than happy that you have a nice hot coffee beside you because you don‘t even have spring-like temperatures outside, not to even _mention_ summer.

It‘s stupid. I just decided to go to sleep because 1) I am tired and want/need to get up rather timely tomorrow and 2) my eBook-reader needs to be charged – and now I lay in bed thinking about this book, tempted to fetch it to only read that famous and well-known “one more chapter” 🙄🤷🏽‍♀️

Maybe because I want to know how it ends to have my very own view of life confirmed.
Oh my‼️ I feel so stubbornly and close-minded. 😱

90 pages in now and after that intense beginning it‘s quite a relief that the story doesn‘t continue triggering so many of those sad/bad memories of my years in school.

I feel, that the book wants to show more than one side, that it wants to make clear that no one is only victim or only offender but I have to admit that I can‘t be as objective or open-minded towards this approach/those issues in general as I maybe should be.

This ain‘t an easy read.

Because of the exaggerated Brielle and this pseudo-grown-up, “important” teenie-issues.

But more maybe because of the quite authentic description of how harassment “works”. Scary how a few sentences are enough to bring back feelings and spotlight-memories of those days.

25 years ago it was terrible enough and I really don‘t want to imagine how it must be today with all the internet- and social*)-media-stuff.

⬆️⬆️⬆️ In school, I was heavily bullied myself so this is corrective justice for me.

🥪 my mum who delivered Sunday breakfast while we were sleeping

🎧📖 having had a cosy day with my significant other by listening to my audiobook together

🌞 the fact that it‘s around 7:20 p.m. and there‘s still daylight outside. Additionally, for the trees that are getting greener and greener and for the fact that the sun is strong enough to spend 1,5 hours on the balcony even if it‘s been rather cold today

Today I am grateful for

🛏 cozy mornings spent in bed, doing nothing useful – only chitchats, texting, playing and surfing around on the internet – and afterwards having a late breakfast 🥚🥣☕️

🛋 lazy, comfy, slow Sundays with togetherness – only to realise that it‘s Saturday and we have one more tomorrow

🍔🍟🥗 my significant other getting us food and @SkeletonKey reminding me of 80‘s fantasy films to watch tonight. 😍

What shall I say❓ When my significant other arrived he told me that on his way to my place he has encountered representatives of the species “chunky white rain” more than once. Not too much of them but he encountered them … 🙄

That to the fact of me grinning about yesterday‘s post. 😇

Pictured above is the newest album of the German band called “Fotos “. It came out in 2017 and at that time I wasn‘t able to make use of the music. I couldn‘t relate to it. So I put the album aside.

Today, two years later, I digged it out again. And what shall I say❓
Now I like it very much. I almost think it‘s great.

So happy to have downloaded a new book without further complications because I was looking forward to some “bed plus book”. But now I am too tired to even turn the page. So it will be some more minutes of my current audiobook.
