I think this book offers both, the brilliant, yet obsessed MC and the monster. Granted, not as Gothic as Shelley's work but blood curdling nonetheless.

So i have been reading this for a few days now and i am past chapter 16.....and i am finding the pace has got alot slower and i am struggling to concentrate on it...so question is do i keep in reading or do i give up??? Its so disappointing as it started off so well....

I've had this on my TBR shelf for years but never got around to reading it. I wasn't missing a lot: cliché, overly sexualising towards female characters, a very obvious (to me) twist, & a corny romance between CJ & another character. There's also no reason it was dragged out for over 500 pages, but I did find myself becoming engrossed in the plot for the final third. 2.5⭐ 13mo
