Waiting for husband's surgery to finish.
#audioknitting at 1.5 speed. Trying to finish second sleeve on my first and probably last sweater I'll ever make!

I'm enjoying the story! #audiocrafting

emz711 Anyone else knitters? 6y
Fridameetslucy Omg another knitter!!! Yay. I am listening in audible to Born to be Posthumous - biography of Edward Gorey and knitting a dress out of impossible thin hand dyed cotton thread. Very obsessive but that‘s how I roll 6y
emz711 @Fridameetslucy I'm really not sure I could do this again! It's exhausting! I usually do hats and maybe scarves. 6y

Fridameetslucy @emz711 whatever it is - it‘s really besutiful!! Sweater? I see how much charting or counting it involves. You‘ve got to really concentrate 6y
Smrloomis Nice job! Hope the surgery went well 🤞🏽 6y

Day 26: Natural
Loved this book! It‘s a story of two woman - one from the 1800s and one in today‘s world. The connection between the 2 women is not only the house and the secrets within but the infertility that shapes each woman. I loved the characters and felt the author did a great job of telling both stories. The historical part was based on a real-life person, and the author shares a little bit about that in an epilogue.

Great story and really enjoyed the dual storyline from the present and the past. It was great discovering how they were connected. The beginning half of the book was a little slow for me and took me a little time to feel hooked by the story. Glad I stuck with it, I enjoyed reading it through the end to see how the characters lives turned out!

Historical fiction! I‘m about half through and I love the current/past story lines. I‘m still trying to figure out how the two will connect. My new obsession has been historical, I have no inclination to read any other genre currently, I just can‘t seem to get enough! 📚🤓

DebReads4fun I also enjoy historical fiction. 5y

Looking forward to a nice, quiet weekend and finishing my latest read.

WarpedSweetness I love your username! My fiancee hates reading too! 7y
Myhusbandhatesreading @WarpedSweetness thanks! My husband's version of reading is reading news websites! He won't even try audio books. He doesn't know what he's missing!! 7y
WarpedSweetness @Myhusbandhatesreading My fiancee's version of reading is the news websites also, and whatever is required for him to read for video games. Lol I tell him that all the time!! I've even offered to read allowed to him, and I hate reading aloud. 7y

While Sarah's family had lost nearly everything at Harper's Ferry, the good would rise as unstoppably as a river after the storm." This one sentence aptly describes the tone of this lovely little piece of historical fiction from Sarah McCoy. The stories of two women, Sarah Brown and Eden Anderson, are told through alternating chapters where we experience the frustration, heartbreak, and joy of their lives.

bookishkai I loved this book! 8y

Interesting dual timeline story. The historical story takes place during the Civil War and is about John Brown's daughter Sarah. The contemporary story is about Eden and how a dog named Cricket helps her. One of the themes in both timelines is the love between people and their furry loved ones.
