Day 26: Natural
Loved this book! It‘s a story of two woman - one from the 1800s and one in today‘s world. The connection between the 2 women is not only the house and the secrets within but the infertility that shapes each woman. I loved the characters and felt the author did a great job of telling both stories. The historical part was based on a real-life person, and the author shares a little bit about that in an epilogue.

Today's featured #historicalfiction author on my #womenshistoryreads series: Sarah McCoy! Find out about her inspiration, process & next project at greermacallister.com/blog.
Great story and really enjoyed the dual storyline from the present and the past. It was great discovering how they were connected. The beginning half of the book was a little slow for me and took me a little time to feel hooked by the story. Glad I stuck with it, I enjoyed reading it through the end to see how the characters lives turned out!
Historical fiction! I‘m about half through and I love the current/past story lines. I‘m still trying to figure out how the two will connect. My new obsession has been historical, I have no inclination to read any other genre currently, I just can‘t seem to get enough! 📚🤓
Just finished this one and thoroughly enjoyed it. I love stories where they go back and forth from the past to modern day.
Looking forward to a nice, quiet weekend and finishing my latest read.
Reading buddy. Not sure how I'm going to turn the page!
Enabler alert: I own this in hardcover but you can't beat this price!
While Sarah's family had lost nearly everything at Harper's Ferry, the good would rise as unstoppably as a river after the storm." This one sentence aptly describes the tone of this lovely little piece of historical fiction from Sarah McCoy. The stories of two women, Sarah Brown and Eden Anderson, are told through alternating chapters where we experience the frustration, heartbreak, and joy of their lives.
Interesting dual timeline story. The historical story takes place during the Civil War and is about John Brown's daughter Sarah. The contemporary story is about Eden and how a dog named Cricket helps her. One of the themes in both timelines is the love between people and their furry loved ones.
Hope the book is as delicious as the ice cream!
