so-soI finally managed to finish my #DoubleSpin for June. This one is a slow starter of a fairy tale retelling. Ilya was a likable enough character and once he finally leaves home has a proper adventure but it took like half the book for the adventure to start. Part of my problem was that I kept comparing it to the Winternight Trilogy and found that this was less magical in execution.

I may put Firebird on hold so I can read Operation Shield for the library's summer reading raffle entry. I'm just not feeling Firebird I think in part because I keep comparing it to Arden's Winternight Trilogy and find it wanting.
