I've not seen this movie in such a long time so reading this book brought back a lot of memories.

Is it worth the read? Yes, absolutely because you get to know the characters more, through their thoughts and feelings.

I think it enriches the story and I enjoyed reading it, I'm now looking forward to watching it and bawling my eyes out at the ending again.

I didn't realise that the alien was a 10 million year old intergalactic botanist! 😍

Sparklemn I read this back when the movie came out and loved it. I'm nearly as old as ET. 😉 Like you said, it really fleshes out the characters. Glad you enjoyed it! 🌿 🌻 🌸 2y

Adorable retelling of the movie. My 10 yr old actually purchased this picture book for his collection. The illustrations are so cute, and it mostly keeps to the movie, only leaving out parts that may upset or not be appropriate for the toddler set. Also, the text does not shy away from challenging vocabulary for beginning readers. (Always a +!)⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐💜😁

ValerieAndBooks That's ok, I almost did that myself! I had almost started my challenge with Herzog, the most popular book for the year I was born, until I realized it was published the year before. So it's still in my TBR 😊 8y
