Bookwormjillk Sounds fun, count me in! 3y
DebinHawaii I‘m in. Will think of some scary books. 3y
DGRachel Horseman by Christina Henry is on my TBR for October. I know nothing about it besides it‘s “horror” and a Legend of Sleepy Hollow retelling (and she wrote Lost Boy, which I LOVED).
Horseman: A Tale of Sleepy Hollow 3y
![[tagged book]](https://image.librarything.com/pics/litsy_webpics/icon_taggedBook@3x.png)
Megabooks I‘m up for this! 💜👻 3y
BookwormAHN I'm so excited for this 👻 3y
Cinfhen I feel like this is your new jam @Megabooks so I‘m hoping you‘ll come up with some scary AF titles!!!! 3y
Cinfhen That sounds great @DGRachel !!! Can‘t wait to hear more suggestions @DebinHawaii xx 3y
Cinfhen Excited to have you back @Bookwormjillk @BookwormAHN 🙌🏻😈👻 3y
Megabooks This that @vivastory recommended sounds good. I think @JamieArc recommends it too!
FantasticLand: A Novel 3y
![[tagged book]](https://image.librarything.com/pics/litsy_webpics/icon_taggedBook@3x.png)
Megabooks This has been on my TBR for awhile recommended by @Reggie
Manhunt 3y
![[tagged book]](https://image.librarything.com/pics/litsy_webpics/icon_taggedBook@3x.png)
Cinfhen Both of your suggestions sound TERRIFYING @Megabooks 😮woohoo 🤗🤗🤗 3y
vlwelser Grady Hendrix is the Author AMonth pick for October. Just throwing that little piece of info out there. Stephen Graham Jones is also an interesting idea. I'm also with @DGRachel on the Christina Henry bandwagon. 3y
DGRachel @Megabooks Fantastic Land looks pants-wetting terrifying! 😱🫣 3y
DGRachel @vlwelser Grady Hendrix is fun. I have not been able to set foot in an IKEA since reading Horrorstor. 3y
TrishB A good bit of horror 😁 I would love to find a proper scary one….. 3y
vlwelser @DGRachel I'm basically just going to upvote
Horseman: A Tale of Sleepy Hollow 3y
![[tagged book]](https://image.librarything.com/pics/litsy_webpics/icon_taggedBook@3x.png)
Cinfhen Ohhh, fun to throw in Grady Hendrix @vlwelser for #AAM 🤩 3y
Cinfhen Please suggest something @TrishB we all know how much you adore a good serial killer xx 3y
Bookwormjillk I love the idea of Grady Hendrix or Fantastic Land! 3y
TrishB
Sundial 3y
![[tagged book]](https://image.librarything.com/pics/litsy_webpics/icon_taggedBook@3x.png)
TrishB
Hidden Pictures: A Novel 3y
![[tagged book]](https://image.librarything.com/pics/litsy_webpics/icon_taggedBook@3x.png)
TrishB Not read either of those yet- on my tbr! 3y
TrishB Most things by Ania Ahlborn 3y
TheBookHippie So not my genre I will defer to the people who read it! I will join in though and probably pee my pants reading .......in fright......bahahaha. 3y
TheBookHippie @DGRachel THIS sounds good to me! I vote this!
Horseman: A Tale of Sleepy Hollow 3y
![[tagged book]](https://image.librarything.com/pics/litsy_webpics/icon_taggedBook@3x.png)
BookwormAHN
The Shining 3y
![[tagged book]](https://image.librarything.com/pics/litsy_webpics/icon_taggedBook@3x.png)
BookwormAHN
The Academy 3y
![[tagged book]](https://image.librarything.com/pics/litsy_webpics/icon_taggedBook@3x.png)
DGRachel @TrishB I bailed on Sundial earlier this year but Hidden Pictures looks good. Creepy kids are the most terrifying to me! 3y
BookwormAHN All these books sound good 👻 3y
DGRachel I will also echo @TrishB on Ania Ahlborn. I am still traumatized by The Seed and I read it a decade ago. 3y
BooksNBowls I‘m down for a Grady Hendrix book! 3y
DebinHawaii This one is on my #TBR I read the author‘s first book & it was pretty scary. Tagging it below.
The Corpse Queen (edited) 3y
![[tagged book]](https://image.librarything.com/pics/litsy_webpics/icon_taggedBook@3x.png)
DebinHawaii
Consumption 3y
![[tagged book]](https://image.librarything.com/pics/litsy_webpics/icon_taggedBook@3x.png)
LeahBergen Count me in! I love a good scary read. 👏 3y
Librarybelle I‘ll tentatively say I‘m on board, but it probably depends upon how scary/horror the pick is…I‘m too much of a scaredy-cat that would keep me up for weeks. That being said, I love Gothic horror, and I‘ve read Grady Hendrix and liked the book I read by him. And the Christina Henry @DGRachel mentioned sounds like something I‘d love to read
Horseman: A Tale of Sleepy Hollow 3y
![[tagged book]](https://image.librarything.com/pics/litsy_webpics/icon_taggedBook@3x.png)
DGRachel @DebinHawaii I‘m adding The Corpse Queen to my TBR, even if we don‘t read it for this. That sounds amazing and right up my alley! 3y
KateReadsYA I agree with a lot of the others! Horseman sounds really good, gotta love a sleepy hollow retelling! Can't wait to see what the pick will be! I'm down for anything scary 🖤 Ready for all the fall vibes. 🍁☕️🎃
Horseman: A Tale of Sleepy Hollow 3y
![[tagged book]](https://image.librarything.com/pics/litsy_webpics/icon_taggedBook@3x.png)
DebinHawaii @DGRachel Yes! It sounds really good to me too. I am “saving” it for an October read. 😱 3y
KateReadsYA Also this one has been on my TBR for a while! Sounds really fun and creepy 🤩
The Haunted Forest Tour 3y
![[tagged book]](https://image.librarything.com/pics/litsy_webpics/icon_taggedBook@3x.png)
JamieArc This falls at the same time as Dewey‘s Readathon, so on the one hand, it‘s perfect for my weekend of creepy reading. On the other hand, I rent a place by myself that weekend and may scare myself too much to read something that scary 🤣 3y
Bookzombie Sign me up for this one! 3y
peaKnit I‘m game! My horror go to‘s tend to be Stephen King or Dean Koontz but I‘m willing to try anything.😊 3y
thereadingpal Oh i so want to participate! 3y
Chelsea.Poole Oh my! I‘m a scaredy-cat when it comes to horror, though true crime does something different to my brain that I can handle. These picks look interesting. Especially FantasticLand and Manhunt @Megabooks 😱 3y
rubyslippersreads Like @Chelsea.Poole I‘m a 🐓when it comes to horror, but I‘m rather intrigued by
Horseman: A Tale of Sleepy Hollow 3y
![[tagged book]](https://image.librarything.com/pics/litsy_webpics/icon_taggedBook@3x.png)
Cinfhen I‘m LOVING these suggestions & it‘s so fun to watch our sweet gentle reading group become horror obsessed in a matter of seconds!!! I‘m adding ya‘ll to the group @rubyslippersreads @Chelsea.Poole @thereadingpal @peaknit @JamieArc @KateReadsYA @Librarybelle @LeahBergen @TheBookHippie @BooksNBowls 3y
Cinfhen @Bookzombie I know you read a good mix of horror!! Any suggestions??? 3y
KateReadsYA @Cinfhen Thank You!!!! 🥰 3y
TrishB @DGRachel that‘s interesting about Sundial 👍🏻 not got to it yet. 3y
erzascarletbookgasm Tentatively, I‘m in..depends how scary the chosen book is, also whether it‘s available from my library 😂. I have this on my tbr though 👉
The Creeper Man 3y
![[tagged book]](https://image.librarything.com/pics/litsy_webpics/icon_taggedBook@3x.png)
DGRachel @TrishB It may have been a case of wrong book/wrong time. The main character got on my nerves from the very first page. 3y
jenniferw88 I might be in - depends on the book chosen as I don't do really scary! Horseman sounds OK as I've read Sleepy Hollow, but going to suggest this one (although I think most will have already read it!)
The Last House on Needless Street 3y
![[tagged book]](https://image.librarything.com/pics/litsy_webpics/icon_taggedBook@3x.png)
BarbaraBB Yes @TrishB anything Ahlborn would do the job 🖤🖤 3y
Chelsea.Poole @jenniferw88 that one came to mind for me as well!
The Last House on Needless Street 3y
![[tagged book]](https://image.librarything.com/pics/litsy_webpics/icon_taggedBook@3x.png)
TheBookHippie @Cinfhen classify us as if it‘s too scary we‘re out but a headless horseman oh that‘s okay 🤣🤣🤣🤣 this thread of posts is awesome. 3y
Cinfhen Hahaha @TheBookHippie THAT‘S too funny 😂 3y
Cinfhen Ohhhh !!! Great suggestion @jenniferw88 @Chelsea.Poole I‘ve not heard of it but book sounds fabulous 3y
jenniferw88 @Cinfhen it's been compared to Gone Girl, so if it gets chosen it'll be interesting to see if I agree 😂 And if a Gothic book gets chosen, I WILL be participating as I ❤ that genre! 3y
BooksNBowls oh yeah I‘m down for the last house too! 3y
Vansa I haven't read much horror apart from Shirley Jackson, so I'm fine with anything! 3y
LeahBergen How about some retro 1970s horror?
Burnt Offerings (Valancourt 20th Century Classics) 3y
![[tagged book]](https://image.librarything.com/pics/litsy_webpics/icon_taggedBook@3x.png)
LeahBergen Or 1960s horror?
Rosemary's Baby: A Novel (50th Anniversary Edition) 3y
![[tagged book]](https://image.librarything.com/pics/litsy_webpics/icon_taggedBook@3x.png)
LeahBergen @BarbaraBB ☝️ 3y
Cinfhen Retro horror sounds great @LeahBergen 3y
Chelsea.Poole Has anyone read
The Hollow Places 3y
![[tagged book]](https://image.librarything.com/pics/litsy_webpics/icon_taggedBook@3x.png)
Chelsea.Poole or this one?
When the Reckoning Comes: A Novel 3y
![[tagged book]](https://image.librarything.com/pics/litsy_webpics/icon_taggedBook@3x.png)
TrishB @jenniferw88 The Last House has been compared to Gone Girl? My head is spinning. 3y
jenniferw88 @TrishB @Cinfhen actually, not compared to Gone Girl - the exact quote (by Stephen King, no less!) is "I haven't read anything this exciting since Gone Girl". ? 3y
TrishB @jenniferw88 I was literally scratching my head to see any similarities. This book is very, very badly marketed and is not horror at all. But I can‘t say anymore without massive spoilers. I did really enjoy it though. 3y
jenniferw88 @TrishB that's a relief then - the quote was putting me off reading it (& why I bought it as a #99pkindledeal) 😂 3y
jenniferw88 Also nominating
The Lighthouse Witches 3y
![[tagged book]](https://image.librarything.com/pics/litsy_webpics/icon_taggedBook@3x.png)
jenniferw88 Or this one looks good:
River City Widows 3y
![[tagged book]](https://image.librarything.com/pics/litsy_webpics/icon_taggedBook@3x.png)
Bookzombie @LeahBergen Burnt Offerings has been on my TBR for years, so I second that suggestion. @Cinfhen The Ruins crossed my mind, but I don‘t know if the level of gross will put some off. Check out @Nute ‘s review.
The Ruins 3y
![[tagged book]](https://image.librarything.com/pics/litsy_webpics/icon_taggedBook@3x.png)
Bookzombie I enjoyed this one. Set in space, so it‘s sci-fi horror.
Salvation Day 3y
![[tagged book]](https://image.librarything.com/pics/litsy_webpics/icon_taggedBook@3x.png)
Bookzombie Another good one. Vampires. See @Reggie ‘s review.
In the Valley of the Sun 3y
![[tagged book]](https://image.librarything.com/pics/litsy_webpics/icon_taggedBook@3x.png)
LeahBergen @Bookzombie It‘s been on my TBR for years, too! 3y
Kimberlone All of the festivities this weekend completely passed me by. I was overly optimistic that I would be able to join but with two weddings and a bridal shower over the past two weeks, “real life” just needed to have my attention more. Will be looking forward to the fall event, though. Love that you ladies host these events and always love joining in! 3y
Kimberlone This one has been on my list!
My Heart Is a Chainsaw 3y
![[tagged book]](https://image.librarything.com/pics/litsy_webpics/icon_taggedBook@3x.png)
Cinfhen We missed you @Kimberlone but it sounds like you‘ve had a busy June already!!! Looking forward to having you join us for #FearfulFall 😵💫 3y
batsy I'm so game for this! Love @LeahBergen 's retro horror suggestions and throwing a title into the ring because it's on my TBR
The Twisted Ones 3y
![[tagged book]](https://image.librarything.com/pics/litsy_webpics/icon_taggedBook@3x.png)
batsy Also
The Book of Accidents 3y
![[tagged book]](https://image.librarything.com/pics/litsy_webpics/icon_taggedBook@3x.png)
Cinfhen SO MANY AWESOME SUGGESTIONS 🙌🏻Thanks everyone!!! @BarbaraBB & I are compiling a short list which we‘ll make available for voting 🗳 @batsy @Kimberlone @LeahBergen @Bookzombie @jenniferw88 @TrishB @Chelsea.Poole @BooksNBowls @Vansa @TheBookHippie @DGRachel @erzascarletbookgasm @KateReadsYA 3y
DGRachel @jenniferw88 I completely agree with @TrishB that Needless Street was very badly marketed. I wouldn‘t classify it as horror either but I did really like it. The less you know going in, the better. 3y
i.besteph Hi, i changed my username so i missed #summerheat and the voting process. Can you please tag me in future posts? Thanks 3y
Cinfhen Sure @i.besteph !! @BarbaraBB holds the list!! Our winner is
Horseman: A Tale of Sleepy Hollow 3y
![[tagged book]](https://image.librarything.com/pics/litsy_webpics/icon_taggedBook@3x.png)
i.besteph @Cinfhen great! Thanks for the update :) 3y
