And having been homeschooled all throughout his life, it was definitely a challenging experience. I think it would be a great book to inspire kids to make a difference in the world.

supan.katherine Boy + Bot are really good friends who have a lot in common when it comes to having fun. But as soon as Bot gets switched off, Boy thought he was sick and cared for him just like any other human. And as soon Boy fell asleep, Bot thought he was malfunctioning. I definitely recommend giving this book a read to find out the ending! 7y

supan.katherine This is story about Shorty and his family, as well as other Japanese Americans, were sent to internment camps while the U.S. was at war with Japan. Times were very difficult at the camps, so Shorty and his father decided to create a baseball field and league to uplift the environment of the camp. With always being picked on for being the smallest on the team, Shorty became discouraged. But he never allowed that to stop him from continung. 7y

The developmentally appropriate activities you included were very useful for young students, specifically kindergarteners. They are simple enough that the children shouldn't have any issues completing the assignment but they are also complex enough to challenge students and test their understanding of the alphabet. This book contains funny poems that would keep the students entertained yet learn how list poems could either rhyme or not rhyme.

The Kissing Hand is about a little boy who is a raccoon that refuses to go to the first day of school. But then his mom teaches him a little secret that would help him get through the first day. I feel that this book would be great to help with students first day of school jitters.

JanaLL I am very familiar with this book, as my second grader is not one to want to leave me in the beginning of the school year. This is the perfect read aloud for the first days if school hands down 7y

El Deafo | Cece Bell

The 2015 Newbery Honor, El Deafo, by Cece Bell is an autobiography that would be perfect for LC. Cece was intimidated enough to have to wear phonic ears around her neck, but having to go to an entirely new school with them? She sure felt different. In the graphic novel, El Deafo, Cece learns that having phonic ears aren‘t so bad. But also comes across obstacles where she wish they didn‘t exist at all, such as finding a true friend.
