I am so smitten with Ree Drummond and her story. It helps that her husband, Ladd, is such a sweet dish ❤️

This story is...different. I don‘t even remember where I saw it the first time and thought I‘d want it. I got it in a Christmas book exchange. It‘s interesting and I‘m over half finished but the writing style is different from any I‘ve read that I can remember. Mr. Meow does not care one way or the other. #catsoflitsy
Right now I‘m finishing this one. Second in the series. The first one was Delirium. If you liked Hunger Games and/or Divergent it‘s very much in the same type of genre. I‘m pleasantly surprised so far.
Half Price Books is having a 20% off sale this holiday weekend. Grabbed a few books on my Want List.
I haven‘t read a 3D book in ages. This one pulled me right in.
Since SOMEONE 🤬 unplugged my Kindle from charging this morning and it‘s almost dead...going old school paperback.
Lovely book! And a message at the end I didn‘t expect that was quite timely.
Tom doesn‘t age like everyone else. He‘s lived over 400 years. The story bounces from current to past but without being distracting and tells you his story of how he, and others, came to exist for so long. And for you Whovians...Benedict is rumored to be Tom in the movie 😉
It‘s been a shitty day so I went to the bookstore for lunch. This sat there screaming to me. Bridget Jones-like with time travel...I feel better now.
Whenever I fly to NY I listen to The Stand. The group has made it to CO, Mother Abagail has gone off into wherever she goes, and Nadine has gone to live with Harold. #favoritebookever
“The first rule is that you don‘t fall in love,” he said...”There are other rules too, but that is the main one. No falling in love. No staying in love. No daydreaming of love. If you stick to this you will just about be ok.”
You know he‘s gonna fall in love, right?
“He couldn‘t believe what he was looking at. The son who had claimed [spoiler block]‘s body...could have been his own twin.”

Our mission for NYE is to find a place in KY that can come close to NYC pizza. We are ruined forever after our visit over the holidays. ^ for your viewing pleasure...the holy grail.
This amuses me to no end. See, JR Ward lives in Louisville, KY, and Charlemont = Louisville. The parallels tickle me. There is really a Big Four Bridge, the IN neighbor is a combination of actual Jeffersonville and New Albany and the Ohio River is, well, really the Ohio River. I‘m not sure anyone not from here shares my amusement but it‘s one of my favorite things about these books 😁
Holy cow! I kept hearing that the twist at the end was crazy and it was no lie. I didn‘t have it figured out until the last chapter.
Adele and David are married. They have a “troubled” past and Louise walks right into the crazy. What goes down is lies, manipulation, and other stuff I can‘t share without giving important stuff away. Read it!
Someone went to the used bookstore today 🙋🏼
I took FOREVER to convert to ebooks but if I hadn't I wouldn't have found these treasures by @HeatherKilloughWalden the majority of her books are ebooks and I love her flare in the paranormal. This particular series is a take on the Peter Pan story. While I still like a genuine 3D book, I find so much more diversity in the ebooks world. #6666giveaway @Booksandcooks

Oh to have a job where I just got up and did what I wanted and got paid for it!
I read this book a while ago. It was more than 'so-so' but I don't know about the coolness rating. This was like a Little House book but set in Auckland. The main character is Amy and at times I wanted to smack the taste out of her mouth but I guess it was the time period and probably how things were back then. I HAD to read all 4 of the books to see what happened. Not my normal genre but I enjoyed it.
Amazon is an evil temptress. I go to look at my Kindle First selection and end up with 5 different books. It's ok, really. I'm fine.
Going on a little trip for a few days and this is one of the books I'm taking with me because it's short stories. I also ha The Shifter King by @HeatherKilloughWalden that I'm half finished with and NOS4A2 by @joe_hill Bring on the reading!
The Vampire King is the 1st of @HeatherKilloughWalden that I read. The 1st of at least 13 books in the series. At the time I just thought, "Cool, another vampire book." As I read, I learned about Evie-her normal life and Roman-the king of vampires, destined to be her mate. I love the mix of magic and human worlds and giggles more than once at the sarcasm and character these 2 developed. There's also a deeper story that starts to build.
Excuse me human. You are not paying proper attention to me. #catsoflitsy
How do you "add" a book or author? I see some of her books on here but there are so many more and I love her!
"When Hax and the gunslinger reached the top, the gunslinger threw the noosed rope over the cross tree and then put it over the cook's head, dropping the knot until it lay just below the left ear. The birds had all flown, but Roland knew they were waiting."
*My book has illustrations!
@lemonlime799 this turd is part dog, part vulture, part mountain goat. #catsoflitsy
Another poster reminded me of these books I read AGES ago. I was a rotten child and was grounded one summer. FROM EVERYTHING. I was quite ok with that because I read this series. I actually still have this exact set. I was supposed to be in trouble but I spent that summer in the wilderness 😉
Books are my shelter. They don't ask stupid questions or want me to pick where to eat for dinner. They don't walk in the door raging about every little thing that didn't go right in the day. They are my safe place to escape where words create a respite from adulting.
Finished 1 book so I'm trying to make some sense out of this 1. I don't dislike it, I just can't figure out what this build-up is.
This is not my typical genre AT ALL but it has a local setting (even though it's supposed to be fictional) and it was such an easy read. Rich, "southern" family and all their fucked-up deliciousness, mingled with murder, money embezzling, forbidden poorly timed love chances, and biting sarcastic wit from the writer.
"Much later, when everything had changed and he was living a life he couldn't have imagined on any level, he would come to recognize...that this moment, ..... was when he began to truly heal: For a brief instant, a split second, a single breath, his pilot light flickered on."
Why must I like electricity and food that causes me to work on a rainy day?? I want to read, nap, repeat.
I love series books. There aren't many of Heather's on here but I've read all of the Big Bad Wolf series (4 I think - start here) and The King series (spin off of the wolves 8 of 13 have been released). Mostly ebooks, usually around $5 or less. Fun take on vampires and werewolves with magic and lots of other mystical beings. And not heavy on the lust breathing love story but enough if you like that sort of thing.
Yesterday I remembered how happy my very soul is being in a bookstore. Here, my favorite posts are ones that include the kitties. #catsOfLitsy #findYourJoy
"I'm afraid your father is no better husband than you are."
Oh snap!
I'm pretty sure I'm the only one here that didn't have these yet. DevilCat is guarding them closely trying to figure out when she can safely barf on them 🙄 #catsOfLitsy
Another B&N bookguy recommendation: behind the scenes, a fierce competition is underway: a duel between two young magicians, Celia and Marco, who have been trained since childhood expressly for this purpose by their mercurial instructors. Unbeknownst to them both, this is a game in which only one can be left standing.
