I've always wanted to read this book because I have always been interested in these type of genres. And I am curious to see what this book is about and what the title mean.

aa_guer2021 It‘s fascinating and comes highly recommended! It is a retelling of a mythological story in a more modern, page turning kind of way. Also I recommend by her 4y
AllisonM89 This book has one of my favorite endings. It's perfect. 4y

The author described Elios thoughts and how he saw Oliver. The author describes meeting Oliver by using past tense so this happened in the past and Elio is just relieving these memories. The author narrated how Oliver looked at Ellio “ The steely gaze always returned“ expressing how Oliver looked at him once again.

I chose this book because I wanted to know more about the plot and what people found interesting and sad about this book. The cover also intrigued my curiosity about the book. What I know is that this book is about a boy named Elio.

The book takes place in Virginia in the mid 1970's, Leslie and Jess lives on the countryside. If this book were to change the place and time, they would be in city. The plot won't really change because in the book Leslie moves into the neighborhood where Jess lives in.

Jesse and Leslie's friendship is what I can related on. There friendship is simple, they're childish exploits fraught with amusement and joy. I related more on their friendship rather than any character. Their friendship isn't always carefree, their friendship is magical it allows them to rejoice and escape the pressures that is being forced onto them. It gets them to be their true selves around each other.

Jess was an outcast in his family. He was more interested in art than doing farm work. He was lonely in the house being the only boy and his father didn't spend much time with the boy. Upon meeting each other they both changed, Jess became more imaginative and Leslie became more compassionate. They both needed each other because they understood one another. They trusted each other and both needed an escape from reality.

I chose this book because it's very close to reality. The book views how kids can go through difficulties as well, relying on their imagination to help distract them. This book is also a bit dark when we go a bit more deeper into the story, it has a tragedy, imagination and friendship which is what interested me to read it.

LibrarianRyan I love this book. It is still one of my all time favorites. What was your favorite part. 4y
