“It was that need that fueled the worst in him. Her father had so mixed up respect and fear that he could not discern one from the other, and it fed some desperate thing in him when people or animals felt helpless in his presence”

Dark Academia/ orphanage / magical - this book had so much depth for a YA novel. I almost feel like it shouldn‘t be one. It‘s deep, well written, and causes you to 💭 ponder.

When people see tears, they stop listening to your hands or your words or anything else you have to say. And it doesn‘t matter if the tears are angry or sad, frightened or frustrated. All they see is a girl crying.

Heartbreaking , tough read, worse because it was all true. I hope this woman never gets out of prison.

Toasty_Applejack She did get out November 8th 2022, didn‘t even serve the full 22 year sentence and is in denial of any wrong doings 🤯 2y

🌟🌟🌟3 out of 5 - Book 2 of The Inheritance Games - This book was good - not as great as book 1. It felt like it didn‘t get really good towards the end of the book. Still it was full of great imagery and the great characters from book one. The mysteries and puzzles are still alive and well. I have one question though ??? Grayson or Jameson? 🫣

Great story - great writing - I think this is the fastest book I‘ve ever read probably. Thrilling - but has triggers for some people. Are you team manuscript or team letter!?

Meghan1 Manuscript!! 2y

It was ok - it definitely had a twist. But many many trigger warnings to look up before reading this. This book is just ok - it‘s one that will definitely get lost in your memory- nothing is too memorable about this.

Book 1 of the series! Can I just say I loved loved this book! So unpredictable- can I just say I can‘t believe that this is a YA novel! These twisty turns and puzzles are so page turning. I love the dark academia vibe that starts coming out too! This is a definite pick for me!

JamieArc I‘m looking for some dark academia books for fall. Stacking this one! Also, welcome to Litsy! 🎉🎉. If you haven‘t started following @LitsyEvents I‘d recommend it to get a feel for everything that‘s going on. 2y
rachreadsbooks @JamieArc I can‘t wait to read book2! I hope it keeps going with that feeling! It‘s not as deep as normal dark academia but it‘s just enough and this book just feels good- like a ride! Thanks I will give it a follow! 2y
