This was an awesome book. A perfect read right after Underground Railroad. Thought provoking. Wish I had snapped some quotes.

This is so creepy. I may never go hiking ever again. I just powered through it to see how it ended. Can't wait to get my hands on the others.

Diane Guerrero shines light on the unfairness of a damaged immigration policy. Her brave voice tells a familiar story for thousands of families which has been forgotten by those of us whose immigration stories are a part of history in this generation. A country of immigrants should stand together.

Bakingbookworm A really good and enlightening read. I was quite impressed. She sheds a big light on the struggles of immigrants. What do you think of her writing style? 8y
melonbooks14 I am really enjoying it. The first chapters were slow but it's picking up and I imagine feels more like her voice now. 8y

I admit I picked this up, because I heard about it on @bookriot and it sounded different from my regular reading. I truly enjoyed this/-- the dissection of what comes from surviving a disaster, the clear before and after, the human side, and how the media spins it.

Notafraidofwords I bailed too. Don't worry! 9y
melonbooks14 I couldn't like the narrator and her "relationships". I gave it a good try but finishing it seemed mind killing. 9y

Marriage is a two sided coin. The past is each side and the marriage the edge. You can never see the other side fully, no matter how hard you try.
An interesting read.

Circle and circle to understand. You can lead and I can follow. You can cut and I can bleed. You can run to desolation, ruination, but I can stand here and reconsider.
Awesome read. Deep feels. Thanks @bookriot for the heads up!
