Took a looking time to get through this but I loved the cast of characters.

I don't know what I expected but I was pleasantly surprised and intrigued.

I loved Mark Adams' writing style and it made the long treks to this spectacular place in the world, entertaining, informative, and easy to imagine you're right there with them.

A book for its time (2011) in terms of current events and entertainment, but I also found it relevant regarding other topics like, working moms, and sexism. Tina Fey makes smart and funny observations and I really enjoyed reading her writing.

Read with my kids...a preface to reading Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, next.

I would love to revisit this one.

Thank goodness for leap year/day..it really helped me finish my last book of the month. 😂 Looking back, it seems I spent the month reading about war in three different time periods. 🤔 And a handful of spies, too!

It took me a long time to finish listening to this one. I'm excited to start the next because I can finally get ahead of the TV series.

A day in the life of Jamie and Claire...a lot happened, but also not much. I liked it more than the previous book, though.

I wasn't sure what to expect of Samantha Irby, but I loved this. Funny jokes, self-deprecating humor and crazy situations, followed by unexpected tenderness and the relatable pains of being a woman. I did especially laugh out loud about her devil cat!

Sigh. Depressing.

Another super slow reading month in October, but I have some different kinds of reads lined up for November. Hopefully, I can get through more books than usual.

Finally read this one...very good, very sad.

Not the usual genre I pick up, but it was a quick, easy read.

Much more than I expected, in a good way. Delicious descriptions of food combined with the difficulties and loneliness of being an American living in France, gives this memoir depth.
