I loved this book! Beautiful writing describing a beautiful place and young girls journey of finding herself when torn between 2 places. I love when a story transports me immediately and this one certainly did that. Would love to follow more of the main character, Ada's, life in the future.
Had a hard time getting into this one since you bounce between 2 stories. But once I was on board I flew through it. Loved the book within a book within a book. Going to read some more by this author. I need to read more mysteries I think!
This book made me discover a new genre of book...autofiction. Part autobiography, part fiction. I wasn't the biggest fan. I guess because I want to understand what I'm reading. Besides that I had a hard time feeling any sort of empathy for the main character and that made it difficult to read. This was my first book from the library this year. I'm excited at the idea of reading more books now that my card is updated!
Started off reading this one quickly but lost momentum in the middle. Every book I read about thru hiking just makes me want to get my butt back out there. Memories of the John Muir Trail were swirling around in my brain. I liked his voice throughout this one but every so often found myself cringing at the absence of leave no trace methods of hiking. 🤷🏼♀️
I truly loved this book with every ounce of my being. Beautiful, funny, and sad. But in a good way. During a particularly rough mental health week, Haig's protagonist made me feel deeply connected to the unique gift it is to be human. Cannot wait to read everything else by this author.
Love this book from start to finish. I feel inspired to work on my own art and inspired to watch every single thing they've ever been a part of. Also inspired to get even closer to my own siblings? They share such a unique bond and while I'm close with my siblings there's always room for growth!
It was not what I wanted, not what I had been picturing, but I adjusted myself to the reality of it. Better to have a good imagination than a good grilled cheese sandwich, I told myself. Then, thinking of Margaux: Better to have your failure right in front of you than the fantasy in your head.
Ohhhh this book hit me right where I needed it too. In fact, I think I'll be playing around with some of my favorite quotes and working them into some of my calligraphy pieces ❤️ Can't wait to read this author again.
Been on my list for a while. Not that I ever thought about or had any interest in climbing Everest. But this definitely solidifies that notion. What an insane story. And what an odd thing that climbing Everest has morphed into.
Can confidently say this was the weirdest book I've ever read. And I've read a lot of Tom Robbins so that's saying something.
No book has ever made me want to travel somewhere more. Inspiration for my 10 year anniversary trip, perhaps? This book was transportive. I enjoyed the magical element of it and hope to experience some of that coastal Italian magic for myself some day.
Quick, easy read which kept me guessing throughout the whole thing. Had a good pace and I liked the main characters' voice. Looking forward to watching the show version!
2 rough reads in a row. Enjoyed this one even though it was hugely uncomfortable at times. I've also been reading with my library app, which I'm not loving because I hate having more reasons to look at a screen but it has helped me read faster. I think I'm going to hit up the library for my next one! I need that physical book back in my hand.
I think I read this book faster than I've read anything in my whole life. Couldn't put it down. I love these characters so much.

I had never heard that word before but it appeared multiple times in the last 2 books I've read. The protagonist of this particular book had to look up the definition when she heard it within the story so maybe Galaxy Stern and I have more in common than meets the eye. I'm so excited to find out there's a sequel to this one. Onto the next!
First book of the year. I'm shooting for a goal of 25. I may be a bit behind but this one was too good to breeze through. Loved the story, loved the characters, loved the style of writing. Looking forward to reading more from this author. I will miss you Addie. Don't worry, I remember you.
