Mehso-so

I have read every single book in this series, and they are always come in at the top of my list for cozy mysteries. I got this audiobook back in October when it was published, but finally just got around to listening to it. Usually these titles are amazing. I didn't love this one, and I feel so guilty saying that. There wasn't a lot of substance with the story.

I am really torn on this one. Reading about The Troubles is always emotional and difficult. This book is somewhat stream of consciousness and moved very slowly. I didn't dislike it, and stuck it out to the end. But I can't say that I loved it. Curious about what others have thought.

TheEllieMo I read this 4 years ago and while I was reading it, I can‘t say I enjoyed it. But it has stayed with me longer than most books I‘ve read since. (edited) 2y
Cuilin I read this a few years ago and agree with the so-so rating. It was a good imaginative way of talking about The Troubles but I didn‘t love it. It‘s a subject I‘m really interested in. Say Nothing by Patrick Redden Keefe though non-fiction was amazing. 2y

Listened to my first Brene Brown title. I did not expect to be so blown away. I highly encourage everyone to try this title. The biggest takeaway is that without vulnerability there is no growth.

annahenke She‘s so brilliant. It‘s like groundbreaking heart truths you‘ve always known, just spelled out in a way you never realized you understood. 5y

"You should be far more concerned with your current trajectory than with your current results" #AtomicHabits is becoming my traditional January reread. I highly recommend it if you are looking for some motivation going into the new year. Remember where you are now is a stepping stone to where you may end up. Don't compare yourselves to others as everyone is on their own journey. Happy New Year!

Psychological Thrillers are not in my wheelhouse. I had heard a lot of hype around this title.and thought I would step put of my comfort zone. So glad I did. This book had me till the very last page.

Seven Days of Us | Francesca Hornak

Spending some time at home this afternoon relaxing with a new book. Spent a few hours cleaning and reorganizing the kitchen, now to rest.

I'm winding down my Christmas reading with Seven Days of Us. Nothing like reading about the chaotic family life of a fictional family to put yours in perspective (haha!)

After You: A Novel | Jojo Moyes

Pickpick

I truly loved this sequel. Sequels are a tricky thing, and if Jojo Moyes had decided to leave "Me Before You" as a stand alone novel that would have been great. But in making this a trilogy she really shows us how complicated and non-cyclical grief can be. It really allowed me to be faced with my own understanding of grief and loss. Any book which allows me to be so introspective is a big thumbs up.
