Desperately enjoying the remainder of my winter break...

Absolutely beautiful. I have no idea why this was only an honor Newbery. Perfect and beautiful for all readers but especially for middle grades. Great lessons on immigration, refugees, fitting in, bullying and carrying on with life when everything changes.

Fantastic!! I highly recommend to all teachers, parents and young readers. Sad, sweet and beautiful.

Another exciting addition to my children's books library! Ivan, a gorilla living in a shopping mall, meets Ruby, a baby elephant taken from her family, who helps Ivan find change for the better.

I'm pretty super excited about all the children's books I've been adding to my library recently. This one looks fantastic and I can't wait to read it and incorporate it in a lesson plan! A refugee child of Vietnam tells her story through poems.

Read over half then put it down when life got in the way. Time to finish!
Especially since book club meeting is this Sunday haha!
