Just a little light reading to start the morning
I may only be on the second page of the first chapter, but so far, America: A Citizens Guide to Democracy Inaction lives up to the hype 👍

🎶All I want for Christmas is books 📚
My sister did an awesome job picking things off my wishlist for me and I'm excited for all of this. I'll be starting with my boy Jon's. How could I not?
Written in true diary format, Bridget Jones is a refreshing reminder that simply being an adult does not automatically equate to having one's "stuff" together. I enjoyed Bridget's flashes of wit and insightfulness and I felt for her when things went horribly (usually awkwardly) awry. It's a testament to Fielding's skill as a writer, and also a sad commentary on our society, that so many of Bridget's struggles are still relatable 20 years later.
Full Quote: "When someone leaves you, apart from missing them, apart from the fact that the whole little world you've created together collapses, and that everything you see or do reminds you of them, the worst is the thought that they tried you out and, in the end, the whole sum of parts adds up to you got stamped REJECT by the one you love."
#mypupper #ruby (I swear she's fine, she's just really dramatic)
1. The social acceptability of excessive drinking at family functions.
2. Includes Very Truly Yours, HH Holmes; Forever and Five Days; Play: How it Shapes the Brain, the Imagination, and Invigorates the Soul; several books by Jon Stewart and Steven Colbert; and Seriously... I'm Kidding

4. No one asked for any (I know, I was shocked too)

Finally got around to this one. I'd already seen the movie, so no whodunnit thrill; regardless, I still enjoyed the story. The characters are complex and well-developed (even if they're not particularly sympathetic) and Flynn's creative use of multi-POV was highly effective.
I recommend Gone Girl with the quick disclaimer that the ending will leave you somewhere between unsettled and disturbed. Happy reading 😘
'Tis the season.
1. Madonna's Like A Prayer album will always hold a special place in my heart.
2. I don't give books, I get books...
But probably Tuesday's With Morrie or The 5 People You Meet in Heaven.
3. Under, but not by much (if it didn't, the Madonna album should have given me away)
4. Yes, and I work right down the street from my childhood home, where my parents still live. It's awesome, they feed me.

An avid reader knows anything can be a bookmark, but boarding passes are some of my favorites.
