I'm obsessed with the infernal devices series by cassandra clare - its so much better than the mortal instruments in my opinion :) its more exciting, the characters have such depth (will herondale, I'm looking at you), and the nice touch of being set in victorian London feels really atmospheric. When I've had a bad day, I think 'I need will herondale in my life' and go straight for this series.
