Mehso-so

I love Freddie Mercury and was keen to learn more about him. I did learn more about the facts of his career, and the chapters on the AIDS were fascinating, but I didn‘t get a personal portrait of Mercury. I did appreciate the way the author attempted to provide insight as to how and why Mercury remained “in the closet” while also never hiding his flamboyance. However, the writing was clunky at best and downright contradictory far too often.

“My hair was mousey brown, parted in the center, straight and not particularly thick. Human hair, doing what human hair does: growing on my head.” 😂 Best voice for a character I‘ve read in awhile.

Cannot tell you how excited I am to read this biography of Freddie Mercury. Obsessed as I am with him, I‘m surprised this is the first time I‘ve read his bio! 👨🏻👑🎤 #FreddieMercury

Total bubblegum reading. But unlike most bubblegum books, I don‘t hate it. And it matches my manicure.

This book might save my marriage! Loved the practical advice backed by expert opinions and sociological studies. Highly recommend the audio book narrated by the author as well. She‘s hilarious.

Loved it! Reads like a children‘s book with a sad and dark (but somehow still fun) mix of fantasy, fable and sci-GI. Reminded me of “A Wrinkle in Time.”
