The tension is building. I wonder how Diane is going to get out of this mess alive.

Nicholas Trieste's Betta Fish and Backcountry is a poetic memoir that describes Nicholas' travels as he grieves the loss of his estranged father.
It is unlike any memoir or book of poetry I've ever read. The sequence of vivid poems tells his story of grief while showing his surroundings in the wilderness without overshadowing one or the other.
Poems such as "A Letter to my father (apology)" or "We ran" leave you wanting to know more.
A tragic tale. Beautifully written. I recommend it.
Nabokov's craft is simply impeccable in this scandalous story. The story itself has the creepiest narrator/protagonist I've ever encountered in a book. I understand why it's the most band book while still being considered one of the top 100 books written in the twentieth century.
