I'm in the 2nd year of a concerted effort to read more diversely (shout out to Book Riot for the inspiration). As part of that, I am reading only black authors for Black History Month. I also decided to read this book because I don't really read books in the fantasy genre, so the book is more diverse for me in that way as well. I'm happy to say that I'm really into it and I can't wait to see what happens!

What better way to celebrate #NationalReadingDay than spending a rainy train trip #reading Wuthering Heights?

The religious allegories have bugged me throughout the series, but in this one they were just over the top. Wasn't my thing.

"This predilection for minding other people's business was time-honored among the people of Salem, and it undoubtedly created many of the suspicions which were to feed the coming madness." Currently reading and this quote couldn't be more timely, imo.

He's the kind of man who points at people he doesn't like the look of, as if they were burglars and his forefinger a policeman's flashlight.

Perhaps I had to read this series as a child to be completely enthralled. I'm finding they are rather hit or miss. This one was okay. Not bad, but neither was I riveted.

The best fairy tale.

Can you believe I never read the Narnia series as a kid? Finally getting to it now.
