This sounds like me 😬
Prepared ✈️
Parts of this I found interesting but by the end she kept referencing her books (that I haven't read) and I just wanted to hurry up and finish.

Really enjoyed this on audio! Will say that sometimes I just wish authors would tie up their stories in a neat little bow more instead of leaving you wondering about the characters you have grown to love. Probably less impactful that way but I want to know what actually happened to Nadia!
First page. There's something about this sentence that I just love.
Almost bailed on this one halfway through but read a spoiler for how it ends and decided to keep going. I guess I'm glad I finished it but it felt like a bit of a chore.

First Agatha Christie novel, not bad. Rather entertaining but had a suspicion for quite some time on who the murderer was so the big reveal was not too surprising.
I didn't expect I would enjoy this book but I was drawn in from the very first sentence. I loved the haunting passages, without anything happening you felt a foreboding for the main character. #bookclubread
Some of the passages in this book hit close to home. Not loving it so far and wondering if that's why.
This could have been such a good book! Mata Hari had such an interesting life but somehow this book was so dull.
Overall a pick but near the end a couple new narrators were introduced which I thought took away from the rest of the book.
Listening to this book while exercising is kind of a weird experience. The matriarch of this book is food obsessed and the descriptions about what she eats both motivates me to keep running while also making me hungry.
I liked the story that gave the book its name. Most of the other stories were ok and a couple I didn't enjoy. Still planning to continue trying out fiction collections, I'm liking being able to start and finish a story on my commute.
She says to the man who is robbing the store she works at...
Very quick read, I started it this afternoon and couldn't put it down. I fee like I'll be thinking about this book for quite some time.

Overall a good read 👍 Some stories I didn't enjoy but this book made me want to go find other short story collections
Popped into the library to pickup my next bookclub read. With a lot of restraint I only left with 2 additional books 😁
My first novella. Turned out to be a great first choice 😁
The story moves back and forth in time which I thought really worked for this story.
This was a beautifully written book. I did find it a bit slow to start but the story quickly picked up.
I went back and forth between the audio and the actual book and enjoyed reading it in both formats.

Enjoyed sections of this book a lot and other sections not at all. I think overall it's still worth a read (or listen). #audiobook
So excited to listen to Trevor Noah read his book! I love him and I love the fact that the audiobook was free almost as much!
I did not enjoy the first half of this book and while the second half was better it was not enough to save the book for me.
Ahh maybe halfway through this book and am not enjoying it 😣
Also, the mom who is a doctor saw a man punch his son twice. How did she not report that?! As a doctor aren't you legally and ethically obliged to report child abuse???
This was a quick read but I kept hoping for more. I think I'll give the next book in the series a go as a friend raved about it.
Bought myself some new (used) books, my treat for leaving the house today despite the rain ☔️
Loved the third book in the series! Locked myself up in my childhood bedroom today being very antisocial to find out who the killer is and it was so worth it. Can't wait for the 4th book next year!
Was so excited to receive this email! Loved listening to the first book on audio. Have been missing this voice in my ear!
So excited to hear that Rachel McAdams narrated the Anne of Green Gables audiobook! I grew up with these books (and movies), looking forward to experiencing them anew.
Perfect Tuesday evening: curled up on the couch with a tea, the fire going and about to start a new book 🙂
Although I finished this book very quickly, I wasn't super invested in it. I found it hard to follow the internal thought process of the main character which may have been the point but made it difficult for me to really like the book.
Great read! I liked the structure of the book and how it helped unfold the mystery behind the crash. Also found the news coverage and sensationalism of the story spot on given what's been in the news recently.
Listening to my bookclub choice this month so I can get some knitting done.
I want to know what/who caused the crash! I'm so impatient and trying not to skip ahead.
Starting my first non-non-fiction audiobook. Excited to listen to hours of Lin-Manuel Miranda :)
Would definitely recommend this book! Kept me well entertained... Maybe too entertained. My day off which was meant to be spent preparing for a trip was spent reading instead.
I listened to the audiobook of this one and I'm unsure if that is the best way to appreciate and learn from this book. Regardless, I think Between the World and Me is worth reading.
This investigation produced no information that would explain why Prince Jones would suddenly shift his ambitions from college to cop killing. This officer, given maximum power, bore minimal responsibility. He was charged with nothing. He was punished by no one. He was returned to his work.
