Finally finished this, got into a bit of a slump, absolutely loved it! I completed my year goal (40 books) and now have only a handful left to read to complete the @bookriot read harder challenge.

I've always struggled with hardcover dust jackets and even more so now that I mostly read on a kindle. They slid up, they fall off one side, they gap at the bottom and I often crease or rip them when this happens. What do you do with dust covers? Are you perfectly fine with them? Do you take them off? What do you do with them if you take them off? Do you do anything with your now naked book once the cover is off?

I liked this book better than the first and I quite liked the first.

Decided to go outside what I usually read and I didn't love it. Might read the second in the series might not.

Enjoyed this read. Ended a bit quickly and while there was an abrupt resolution of some things (but not any consequences to the way they were resolved) there was a lot left open and hoping that means this story will continue.

Not only does she choose to lay with her butt end facing me she knows I don't care for it and is swishing her tail which isn't distracting at all and isn't dusting my face either.

A quick scifi read. I didn't love it but I also didn't hate it. It had parts that interested me but the story never really gripped me and I didn't really care about the characters or what they were doing.

Had me intrigued from the beginning, just the premise is intriguing. Have the second book on hold at the library and will be impatiently waiting for it to get to my library.

Finished this the other night. Quite enjoyable. Although I knew it was the first in a series, I picked it as my read for @bookriot read harder book that's the first book in a new-to-you YA series, I did not realize it would be so open ended and basically no wrap up of anything. This didn't change my enjoyment of it. I guess i'm used to reading books in series where each book contain a bit more of a complete stories.

I can't say anything better than what's already been said on the back of the book so I'll just say, So good!

Read this because I've heard @Liberty say it's one of her favorite books on multiple occasions. It did not disappoint, enjoyed it very much!

Finished last night but not before I went to text my brother a fun fact about the Manson family but accidentally sent it to my neighbor who I only text about walking her dog...I am the MASTER of awkwardness. I'm going to have to move now I think.

Perfect fun fantasy summer read for me

Spent a day waiting and waiting at the DMV. This lasted me half the wait. Enjoyed it very much.

Took a bit to get into then I got really into it THEN the twists started and I couldn't put it down. Really enjoyed this one.

Finished this last week and loved it.

Haven't been reading much, been playing video games with my husband, but this is due back tomorrow so I guess I better finish it. I like it but I'm not really in the right state of mind to read it, feeling a bit bogged down as it is and honestly this isn't helping.

I last read this in high school 20+ years ago. I did not like it then I think I may have liked it less now. The story has potential but takes a while to get going, everything happens at once and then...it's abruptly over. There is one part in the middle that is from a completely different point of view and it just stuck with me as unnecessary to be there and how the same could have been achieved later on from a kids pov like everything else.

Loved this book. Great setting and characters and a good mystery presented.

Finished up the Binti trilogy last night. Loved them all.

Finally finished Name of the Wind, was in a bit of a reading slump. Now onto this which I should get through fairly quickly.

Found this small box crate thing while cleaning stuff around the apartment and decided it would make a good tbr box. I read mostly digital but still have quite a few physical books I need/want to read. Starting The House on Mango Street as I wait for the my next library hold to come in.

A fun, steamy, quick read that's nothing but enjoyable. I loved all the characters and especially loved having the view point of both people involved.

This has less intense action than the first one but explains a lot about who Binti is and where she comes from and it's very interesting. Can't wait to read the third one.

Loved this movie and loving the book so far.

I read this for @bookriot #readharderchallenge for comic written and drawn by the same person and was familiar with Noelle from her guest spot on Critical Role.

Finished listening this morning while cleaning. Parts of it I identified with (the skiing story) way too much to be comfortable listening to it but was great hearing her tell her stories.

Improvised a book weight while reading last night. A wooden caterpillar that was always on my grandma's desk and I loved playing with. She bought me a mini version at one point and I got this when she passed.
I've been very busy over the last week. Haven't got much reading done or been able to even check litsy or much other social media.

I read mostly e-books. I may have just tried to swipe this physical book to turn the page...

The Olympics have severely cut into my reading time but I was able to finish Cannibalism by Bill Schutt and more onto Here We Are.

She sleeps, with one eye open, while I read.
My husband is out of town this week and I plan on getting through my library books and hopefully start on the tbr stack that's staring at me, waiting.

So this book is just kinda my thing. First chapter starts with info about Arizona's spadefoot tadpoles which my mother goes out and searches for in monsoon season, she has some amazing photographs of the frogs. Then I'm happily reading along and read a footnote and holy shit that incident was why I wasn't able to go to the Sea of Cortez for a third year when I was in college. It occurred a few months before our trip which was then cancelled.

Really excited to get into this book.

Have never read this figured I should give it a read.

Spent most of my day reading Shadow and Bone. Now I'm watching The Librarians.

Well this seems appropriate for today. Happy Groundhog Day.
I don't know if it will see its shadow or not but considering the forecast calls for a high of 78F (25C) today it doesn't really matter here in Southern California.

Tomorrow is chocolate cake day so of course I will be making a chocolate cake.

I had heard this book mentioned a lot and either forgot any details or didn't hear any so I knew pretty much nothing about it and I loved it. Quick fun read with lots of turns.

My mom was visiting and I sent her home with two books, A Thousand Paper Birds and Heart Spring Mountain.
I'm going to read A Talent for Murder first and then Sip, which I am really excited about. I may have excitedly yelled YES! when I picked it up and realized what it was and my husband thought I had won money or something.
ALSO my cats thank you for the box and paper, they LOVE packing paper.
