The writing is a little bit distracting. But overall I think it‘s an important book for I knew nothing about Japanese American‘s life during ww2.
I didn‘t realize it was a sequel of Me before You.. so it didn‘t really make sense to me in the very beginning. But after I realized it, I started to connect with the characters and the story very quickly. I guess it‘s because the background is set in New York. There are many scenes that I‘m very familiar with. It helped me picture the scenes more easily. Plus, I really can feel her struggle of experiencing conflicts when moving to another city.
