After 50+ pages, I cut my losses and bailed. I was grossed out from the hospice part that it prompted me to change my health care proxy!
I heard about this on the What Should I Read Next Podcast. The back cover endorsements sound promising. Thanks @annebogel
This well-written book lives up to the buzz. The characters are flawed and relatable. Once the story went from depressing to intriguing, I was hooked to the end. I'm glad I didn't know the plot as I would've skipped the book and missed out on a compelling read.
This book has gotten so much buzz. I hope it meets my expectations.
This was a book club pick or I would've bailed. If you are someone struggling with midlife, this book would call to you. It's filled with research and personal stories. I couldn't keep my mind from wandering.
The line spacing and font made it harder for me to read. The pacing starts off slow. I'm glad I stuck with the book. I giggled at Major Pettigrew's dry sense of humor. I enjoyed the exploration of old world vs. new world values and manners plus the budding romance between different cultures. I will definitely read more from this author.
