I absolutely loved this book. The pacing was perfect and loved the two different points of view. It definitely could be considered taboo, but how it was done, I would not consider taboo at all. A good, easy, romance read.

I feel very ehh about this novel. It didn't blow my mind, but it wasn't horrible. I feel like the characters were authentic, but a little unrealistic at times. It just didn't live up to the overall hype that has been surrounding it.
This was the mystery I didn't know that I needed. I loved all the different ways the story was told. It felt like an old friend was telling it to you. I loved it! At least for me, it wasn't predictable at all. I would think I had it figured out, then Bam! it would throw me for a loop. Some great quotes for life in it as well.
"[Suicide] is a passing impulse, a signal that change is needed. [...] I was in the afterwards, it was glorious, and a lot of people didn't make it here." p. 371
I had heard great things about this book, but it kinda fell flat for me. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't great. There isn't much that stood out to me about. Yes, it was steamy. Yes, it represented a lot of issues we don't generally see in romance. However, I just never was really invested in the story.
I thought this was a super cute book. It was definitely predictable overall, but had curveballs thrown in. Drew was definitely swoon worthy. Overall, a nice easy palate cleanse.
So, the first 225 pages of this book could be reduced to like 50 pages. It was a struggle for me to get through those pages. Granted, it was setting the scene and building the world, but it felt disjointed and dragged. However, I will definitely pick up any other books in the series, because the second half redeemed the entire book.
This is a book club pick, and I am so glad we picked it! I could not put it down! It had me immersed in the small town life and the renaissance faire the entire time. I loved how it wasn't clear immediately who the romantic interest was. Also, that it didn't focus just on the romance, but also on family, friends, and discovering yourself.
I absolutely cannot wait for the next book in this series - be prepared for a cliffhanger. This follows the three prince/princesses of the USA and each chapter is told from a different POV. Honestly, I was annoyed with Daphne and her chapters, but besides that little side road, I was emersed in all of the other characters. It will have you cheering and then crying in a 5 page span, so be prepared.
Holy crap. This book was great. I was so drawn into the dystopian Rob Hart created and kept wanting more. It was well paced and built this world that we are all familiar with, but then added twists and turns along the way. A must read for anybody who utilizes a company named after a river in South America.
I really wanted to love this book, and I did for the first 100 pages, and then it lost me. Kind of a mix of a whodunnit and fantasy, but with some romance thrown in. It had the potential to be phenomenal, but it had a whole bunch of stuff thrown in that was lost on me. It wasn't until the last 50 pages that it pulled things together, but by then it was a jumble. Would've been better if there was more time spent on the ending.
Katherine Center does it again! I absolutely loved this book, a 5 star read for me. How it centers around family, relationships, overcoming your demons, and starting over had me gripped from the beginning. I loved that the romance was essentially an undertone to the main message of the book. It is hard for me to put my thoughts into words without giving things away. Just phenomenal.
The entire first 2/3 of the book leaves you guessing who did it, and then the last 1/3 leaves you wondering what's going to happen. How the story unfolds from so many prospects was fantastic. There is only one part that pissed me off, and that is the one crime that someone got away with, although, unfortunately, in our society, it is a realistic outcome...
I really wanted to LOVE this book after all the hype it is getting, but I couldn't. The concept and the overall story were fantastic, but the author's writing style failed to draw me in. There were many sentences that I felt were incomplete to the point of lacking comprehension, so maybe just an editing problem. However, I still felt the author did not dig deep enough into these characters, and it felt like an average Fan Fiction.
This book is ground breaking. I can see this becoming one of the most studied and used books when studying out current culture in the black lives matter movement. As a white female, I was not able to personally relate to this story, but the writing conveyed the emotions that allowed me to relate and feel all the emotions of Starr, and even all the characters.
