A woman's investigation of everyday worries and hyperbolic fears as explained through her childhood obsession with sharks. Beautiful language from Wyld, and fantastic illustrations from Sumner. A perfect example of how and why graphic novels are amazing.

Excited to have gotten my hands on this ARC, and to learn that the author is the FIRST woman in Mozambique to publish a novel (whut). Considering putting some washi tape over the subtitle so as not to shock customers at work tomorrow...but also who cares? (Please excuse the shameless cat promotion.)

The haunting story of a family directly affected by the economic & political turmoil of 1990s Nigeria. The language is serene, but the story transports you to a place where you feel angry, sad, frustrated and deeply invested. Beautiful prose. Audiobook narrator Chukwudi Iwuji is also a star.

Amy Poehler is one rad lady. This is a really neat collection of some of her life experiences and the beliefs and wisdom that she has acquired along the way. Great for fans who want to pretend they're hanging out with Poehler on a sunny day and basking in the rays of her knowledge and anecdotes.

Listened to this as an audiobook. I'll admit it was /long/ that way, and there were times I got fed up with what I perceived as plot lull. That being said, there's a lot of exciting action and mind games packed into this book that I really enjoyed it... Plus there's a strong lady protagonist.

This book was absolutely brutal. Charlotte Wood is a master of language, plot, and critical metaphor. I loved how much it infuriates me.
