I cried so much reading this. (I am home sick with a virus but I don't believe that's why I was crying) I loved the first one but this book is so so touching. I can't wait to read the next one.

I couldn't stop reading this - I had to know what had happened. Russell sprinkles hints like breadcrumbs through the book until finally you reach the end and feel like you've been punched in the heart. I'd recommend this to those who can cope with being emotionally devastated by a book. Of course I went straight onto the sequel....#librarylove
Book 4 of my #readcation and part of a series of books I own called "Read these before the filmed version is out!". I bought this about 18 months ago but the film's been out a week so I'm now making time to read it. Intriguing so far. Will post reviews of books 2 "The Fever" by Megan Abbot and 3 "Dark Matter" by Blake Crouch soon.
The first book of my #readcation is done. I'm hoping to make a bit of a dent in my tbr, even in my library tbr would be something, but it's going a little more slowly than I'd hoped. I'll do a proper review later as I'm gathering my thoughts but this book was fascinating. #librarylove
I really disliked the main character when I started reading this - she's very annoying. But I stuck with it and am now two thirds through and wondering how it's going to end.
I loved seeing this too. These usually have things like Christmas decorations or summer fair banners hanging from them. Today this one had books! #roalddahl #cityoftheunexpected
This was another highlight - the Giant Peach taking over the city centre. #roalddahl #cityoftheunexpected
It's Roald Dahl's centenary and Cardiff, the capital of Wales and Dahl's birthplace, is celebrating with the "City of the Unexpected". It's basically a Dahl takeover of the city. I got to see Mr Fox on a unicycle pursued by the police. Brilliant! #roalddahl #cityoftheunexpected
I've just finished this and feel knocked for six. Utterly compelling and heartbreaking in so many ways. I thought I could just plough into my next library book - The Woman in Cabin 10 - but think I need a bit of a break. Still processing. #librarylove
Very excited to receive my first order from #bookwitty . I've heard so many good things about this book. Unfortunately, it's going to have to wait in the tbr for a while because of the other great books I'm in the middle of reading...
Have spent day one of #readathon dipping between listening to the audiobook of this and reading The Longway to a Small and Angry Planet by Becky Chambers. @24in48
I listened to all the books in this series on audio. They were all devastating in their own ways. I don't know if the fact that they were performed added to that or not but they really connected with me on an emotional level.
This book is so weird and creepy. I have no idea what's going on which is fantastic!
Ordered this on Tuesday and was so excited to collect it yesterday. I now own two books signed by Neil Gaiman. Unfortunately, although I went to a talk of his when The Ocean at the End of the Lane came out, we didn't have time to stay and meet him as we would have missed our train. 😿 One day!
