The Glass Castle is about a girl named Jeannette Walls who has a difficult family life. Her and her siblings experience neglect, abuse, sexual abuse, etc. The book discuses the importance of family and forgiveness. Rex and Rose Mary Walls experienced abuse as children which then lead the children into receiving the same type of abuse. The second half of the book is based on Jeannette Walls living in the desert which was very intriguing to her.
