An intriguing book on the first female detective in America and how she assisted in protecting President Lincoln, procuring strategic information during The Civil War and various other capers. Forward thinking Allan Pinkerton followed with a bevy of women agents that furthered his mission of protection and justice, eventually becoming what is today, the Secret Service. Thank you Goodreads and Twodot publishing for this informative read.
So anxious to stroll through this book. Reynolds is a hero to me (and Mother Earth, actually) for showing natural nature has its own quintessential beauty without our over processed interference. Blessed be, m‘lady
So very much enjoying this informative read. Amazing how forward thinking Allan Pinkerton was and how sly Kate Warne, and all her followers were against the odds of the era.
A sweeping telling of many gifted birthrights, repeated in varied, yet precut, scenarios that culminate before an inevitable onset of more. Cailleachs through the ages hand down wisdom that comes forth when most needed. A delightful and evoking read of feminist power and perseverance.
Who knows why miracles happen or the reason behind the recipient? Certainly not Vietnam veteran, Cameron Harris, who just up and began walking after 4 years of being wheelchair bound. What follows in a comical life of reality TV, priests, souvenir shop trinkets and beer. I loved this book!
A taste of southern dysfunction, properly dosed and steaming with enough mayhem to turn a crocodile batty. Enjoyable read, past and present, of Tallulah Mae James struggle to be herself, sans the pull of her family in constant need.
