I‘m neither gay nor religious nor a mother, but I still connected Michelle's memoir. I think it just goes to show that a strong woman, doing what she needs to do for herself, her family, and her community, will resonate with other strong women, no matter the specific circumstances. Terrific book!

Good start to a new-to-me series. I need to stop starting new series and finish up some of the ones I've started! 😏

I devoured this nearly 600 page book in two days. Excellent psychological suspense. Kept me guessing the entire time! 😍👍

2nd reading of The Handmaid's Tale for me. I was blown away by it in the mid-90s. Now, I found it even more frightening. Anyone watching the miniseries? I'm not sure I could handle watching this acted out. My imagination is bad enough!!

MrBook It sounds very interesting based upon what MA and the showrunner talked about on Saturday. 7y
Purrfectpages I just read the book and I've watched one episode of the series so far. I intend to watch it all to compare! 7y
KristinaSimon I look forward to hearing what you think, @Purrfectpages 7y
Purrfectpages I'm a little frightened to dive back in for the same reason you mentioned @kristinasimon, but I'll keep you posted! 7y

This was a quick, enjoyable cozy. Nothing earth shattering, but certainly enjoyable.

How much do I ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ Jill Shalvis??!! Anytime I'm feeling down, she's my go-to gal. And she always, always delivers. This wasn't my absolute favorite of the Lucky Harbor books but, then again, it was up against some tough competition. Some of the early books in this series are my favorite books EVER, so, yeah, no pressure. 😏Still, Once in a Lifetime was as sweet and funny as all of Jill's books and definitely a worthy read.

Some great tips for anyone who would rather read than do lawn maintenance! I love plants and flowers and all but I could do without the mowing. Oh, and the dead grass because I refuse to irrigate when we're under water restrictions and I won't use chemical fertilizers. (Working on a compost pile, though.)

As you might imagine, this one was a bit dated. (It was written in the early 80s.) After getting past the eye-rollingly bad attitude of the hero, it was a pretty entertaining read. Best of all, it's off my TBR shelf!

Wow. I didn't expect to like this book as much as I did. I don't usually go in for soldiers or paranormal. Although, to be fair, I wouldn't exactly classify this as paranormal. More like paranormal-light, maybe? Or, maybe lab lit (books with just-slightly-out-of-reach science in them). Well, whatever you want to call it, it was excellent! I can't wait to pick up book #2 and see what happens to the other brothers.

A look at an Interesting, but sad, moment in the life of a young woman suffering from neurofibromatosis. I would love to know how she's doing now.

Both of these have passed the 50 page test, so I'll likely finish them. Most books I pick up will either be Picks or Bails. I rarely finish books I'd call So-so or that I'd Pan. Too many good books out there to waste time on something I'm not enjoying!

This one's passed the 25 page test. Can it make it to 50?

This gorgeous cookbook celebrates Florida's bountiful culinary riches. Each page includes a profile of a farmer, rancher, bee keeper, or chef committed to using organic, sustainable farming practices as well as a representative recipe. I've picked out several recipes I'd like to try immediately and I'm sure I'll return to this delightful book many, many times in the future. #cookbook #florida

Good, solid romantic suspense. The series is about 3 brothers who own a treasure hunting/salvage business. Lots of scuba diving in gorgeous, exotic locations while keeping treasure and romantic partners safe from pirates type stuff. Excellent for a nice, thrilling read.
