If you‘re going to ruin a restaurant by eating there after you find out your dads a serial killer it may as well be Arby‘s 🤢

Don‘t read shit like this in public you say? Thanks mom! I‘m good 😜😜
I loved this! I am a true crime junkie so I don‘t mind the gory details of a true story but this fictionalized story of a family torn apart by Georgia Tann was heartbreaking and beautiful, while also being vague enough about the details that someone less into that can still definitely enjoy it. I‘d compare it to Jodi Picoult style of writing. Definitely recommend.
Good rainy day reading but this book is heart wrenching. Especially knowing it‘s mostly based on true stories. And as a mother of two cute blonde kids it really strikes close to home 😢
Getting started on a soon to be rainy Sunday
I really enjoyed this, there were some heartbreaking moments but overall it was a good read. I think it was even different enough from other wartime novels that I wasn‘t feeling deja vu!
The horrific story is what it is, I just wish there was a bit more information. I guess I‘ll have to read the other books but not sure I want to
It got off to a slow start for me but the last 200 pages I couldn‘t put it down.
Let‘s see if I can leave this horrible slump behind in 2018!
I‘ve been in a deep rut :( I‘m going to come nowhere near my annual reading goals and I feel sad and overwhelmed because of all the stuff I have to do always edging out the stuff I want to.
So glad to finally sit down and start this though! A quick read may help me feel better.
This book finally broke me out of a months long slump. Anyone who knows me knows I normally read a book a week so not being able to get into any I‘ve started since around mid June was painful. I flew through this, it was exactly the right amount of easy read and engaging story to help me flip the switch.
I really did like this book, it was well written and definitely showed really difficult emotions and reactions to difficult situations
I‘m sorry, I rarely bail and I really wanted to love this book but I‘m soooo bored!! I find myself not reading at all to avoid reading this, which is bad because I have 3 other library books plus a stack of tbr! So I may revisit but for now it‘s a bail!
Omg so funny. It‘s like a cross between the Glass Castle and something funny... like a funny celebrity memoir but I can‘t think of any as funny as this one. Maybe Bossypants? Oh well, definitely read it.
I preferred the orphan train but this was a decent read. A bit slow at times. The imagery is beautiful and Kline does do a wonderful job at getting into peoples thoughts.
Amazing! It is hard to believe that this was so recently in the last century. Such a great read although very hard at times. Definitely recommend but not for the faint of heart!
I enjoyed this. I haven‘t read Gone Girl yet but now I definitely will!

1) at minimum once a week; book club plus kids programs have me there frequently
2) I don‘t even know, I‘d love to visit any huge libraries or any that have a neat theme or unique features
3) I can suspend holds so I have my next several book club books on there plus I‘m on the wait list for a couple; probably 6-8. Hidden bodies by Caroline kepnes, middlesex, turtles all the way down and ready player 1 are all there
4) 3
I feel like I‘m on time crunches for so many books and when I‘m reading 1 I feel guilty I‘m not reading another so I am concurrently reading the most books I ever have at once 😬😬😬 save me from myself and my library due dates!

TW Sexual assault:
What a difficult read, but so powerful.
“For the perpetrator, rape lasts just a matter of minutes. For the victim, it never stops.”
Ugh I‘ve been off the grid for a few days, so sick! So much no reading :( can‘t concentrate just listening to pods #blacktapes #tanis
Definitely ya but a good story. Not my favourite but fun and relatively light. Recommended if you‘re not off put by a bit of teen angst :)
This was a surprise for me, I didn‘t think I‘d like it but it ended up being a really engaging story. Definitely recommend.
Done second portion for my fb book club! This book is nuts!
“He always insisted on seeing me safely to my car... [h]e often told me, ‘be careful. I don‘t want anything to happen to you.‘”
It‘s interesting reading about Bundy‘s reaction to the riots and marches of the early 70s. I just read Tuesday‘s With Morrie (also a real person) and he was a professor at the time and fully supporting and joining in whereas Bundy doesn‘t believe that riots and anarchy are the answer. He believes in going through proper channels to produce change.
Interesting which of these men is a psychopathic Killer!
So excited to start shopping for my match @LA_Mead #potterheadswap @JenlovesJT47
I may or may not have signed up for a Harry Potter Book Exchange thing and now can‘t remember anything about it... I think it doesn‘t start until February? 🤭😬
Started reading these one story/night to my 3 year old. He doesn‘t really understand the big themes in them but hopefully as he grows he will be far more aware of the contributions of women, and particularly women of colour, than most adults I know ❤️ fighting erasure
Book: “Papa had arrived in Belgium and was on a train to settle in Paris! Yay!” (1939)
Me: 😬 oh shit
I‘m so grateful I found you all this year, thanks @TheBookbabeblog84 for telling me about this wonderful group and app!! Xo littens, have a wonderful new year!
Uuuuugh I just need 1 new finish to meet my goal of 50! But I cannot focus on reading! I‘m sitting here between 3 books and just can not. Now it‘s feeling like homework and I want to do it less 😭😭😭 motivation find me please!
