It came as a recommendation but I wouldn‘t tell anyone else to read it - the mystery keeps you going but I couldn‘t find myself rooting for the characters.

A wild, graphic ride that hits close to home as far as the prison system in this county. I highly recommend watching and reading author interviews to get a good idea of his perspective and how this story connects to the real world.

It‘s more like a textbook than what I‘m used to with non-fiction but still some really interesting history nonetheless.

Once again, Kristin Hannah brings me to tears! I love her super strong female protagonists who are relatable because they also have flaws. I learned a lot about this time in history in America and appreciate the mother-daughter relationship struggle and love.

Never has a book made me feel every single emotion so deeply, I‘m not a crier and I even cried! I would recommend this to everyone I‘ve met and haven‘t met yet!! Harry stole my heart ♥️

Fizzy is one of my favorite characters recently because she‘s so relatable. We are close in age so all of the references really hit home. She‘s funny and quirky and I hope I get a HEA like her!

This novel gave me some really great insight on non-verbal communication and a better way to empathize with those with verbal and motor difficulties. The happiness part of it was probably my least favorite, but it did have some good twists.

I enjoyed listening to both perspectives from the two protagonists who you root for the whole time. A lot of emotions which made me very invested.

This is one of my favorites in a while! You love Frankie even when she drives you crazy, you‘re pulling for her the whole time. The friendship she has with Barb and Ethel is one for the books (pun intended)!

I love historical fiction and learning about this woman who had such an impact on American history, but felt mostly bored through the majority of the book.

This is not my typical favorite style of book, I hated all of the characters and thought the ending was wildly anticlimactic. It was a book club pick so I listened to the audio and got through it quickly.

This was such a fantastic audio book (although I wish Cheryl read it herself)! I had the pleasure of going to see Cheryl speak at our county library yearly event and she was wonderful, I loved hearing the story in person even more. I felt like I was with her on the trail, in the hospital room with her mother and at all the life events in between. What a life she lived before she was 30. Such an inspiration and a beautiful writer.

I spent most of the book trying to decide if Evie was a protagonist or antagonist and the twists and turns throughout kept me engaged and not wanting to put it down. What a rollercoaster but so fun (and not scary for me because I‘m a baby)!

This is not my normal type of read because I‘m very sensitive to suspense/thriller/scary things. Luckily it‘s such a page-turner that you have to get through it quickly. Had me guessing all the way through!

Such an interesting topic, super thought-provoking and was a perfect pick for book club. It‘s hard to hate your narrator/main character but it‘s so well written you manage to hate June but still enjoy the book!

It is hard to review this book, I grew up such a HUGE Britney fan and it was hard to get a glimpse of how hard things were for her from her perspective. That said, it‘s only her perspective so I want to take some of these stories with a grain of salt. I‘m pulling for her everyday and will always be team Britney!

I love stories about female friendship, and I mostly liked the friendship of these three women but got frustrated at times with their secrecy from one another. I do want to take “hard things” and use with my besties and sisters!

Fredrik Backman is a favorite author of mine, so I went into this audio book blind not know what it was about. It was a tough listen, but I felt like he surprisingly captured a really hard subject from several women‘s perspectives which can be hard for a male to do. Important themes of family, teams and community!

Loved this book! I really resonated with the competitive nature of Carrie and I think it helped me realize it‘s okay to be competitive. It‘s always empowering to read about strong women, and an athlete in a man‘s world made it fun!

I started and finished this on a long flight which helped the time go by! I love these characters and was happy to continue the story. All of the emotions!

I am late to the game on this one, and finally decided to go for it after all of the hype. It totally lived up to it! I really enjoyed it and plowed through it. Lily is easy to pull for even when sometimes it‘s hard to walk through her justifications.

Absolutely loved this book about female friendship. It made my cry and laugh and every emotion in between.

While I will say that the book made me want to keep reading every time I picked it up (which is usually the sign of a great book), I hated the protagonist! That said, I was guessing all the way to the end!

This was based on an article that the authors had previously written, so I was basically listening to an extended research paper. I would recommend passing on this one unless you are really into the first amendment and social trends. An issue with this one is timeliness, there have been so many more controversial events since it was published but I felt compelled to read/listen after a recommendation from our company CEO.

I loved this twist on a WWII historical fiction. It was the right amount of background to get us to the present, but I did think the end dragged on a little too long. When my cousin told me to read this book about a magician helping with the war efforts overseas, I assumed our protagonist was male. It was such a delight to have a female and I‘m ashamed of my assumption!

So educational and well-written. I hope everyone reads this book to find some understanding about the trans community where they might not have before. Poppy is so lucky to have the support system she does as many don‘t.

We go through the most formative years of Sam‘s life and hit many milestones. I enjoy a coming-of-age story but this one didn‘t have enough for me to recommend as a pick.

My favorite read so far this year! Elizabeth is so inspiring in her strength, poise and grace. I didn‘t want it to end!

The second book in this series - was not as good as the first, but still going to read the third when it comes out!

Loved this read! I liked the inclusion of the protagonist‘s mental challenge as a main character. I also did not see the end coming and I feel like I can usually guess. Can‘t wait to have our book club at Olive Garden this week!! ☺️

This took me a few chapters to get into it, but I‘m glad I stuck with it. A lot of action and the end made me ready to read the second book in this trilogy right away. Very well-written.

I really enjoyed this book about relationships and building a business and the roles friends take on while running a business. I experienced every emotion reading this one!

Esme‘s strength impressed me, so having the book have little redemption for her was hard. But a book with so many women who feel empowered without a husband was refreshing!

A lovely and descriptive novel about people who are different and the discrimination they face. Our world would be a much better place if everyone read this book! It also makes me want to break a rule or two. Sometimes I can get caught up with following rules and regulations and not enjoy life as I should.

LOVE love love this book! So thought-provoking and really makes you reflect on if you would open your box or not. This one follows each character through each chapter and the connections were really special. One of my favorites so far this year!
