When feeling low, I remind myself that my imperfections aren‘t weaknesses. They are magnificent signposts of my history that made the brilliantly unique person I am today.

Stay afraid, but do it anyway. What‘s important is the action. You don‘t have to wait to be confident. Just do it and eventually the confidence will follow.

What is your favorite Dr. Seuss book?
I just bought every possible Dr Seuss book still available. Publishers will no longer publish 6 of his books.
All his other books are selling out all over the world. He was my favorite author when I was little! 📖📚

“A person who has good thoughts cannot ever be ugly.
You can have a wonky nose and a crooked mouth and a double chin and stick-out teeth, but if you have good thoughts it will shine out of your face like sunbeams and you will always look lovely.”

I just started volunteering at the Hillcrest Platte Thrift Store! They do fantastic work for the community. Please stop by to shop! Cleaner than most name brand stores, even better customer service, but with unbelievably low prices! They have a crazy number of books available. I admit my library has grown a great deal because of them!!!

Feel free to connect with me over there!
My profile is:
https://nanowrimo.org/participants/cindybahl
Who else is participating this year?!?

wanderinglynn I am! I sent you a buddy request. @TK-421 - is there still room in our group? 4y
Geekstress @wanderinglynn I just accepted your Buddy invite on NaNo! And I also invited you to my writer's group called the Writers Guild. I'm assuming you meant that one?
Just to let you know, my group is also on Discord (in case you venture onto that social media platform). So cool to connect! I can't believe you are currently living in Okinawa! I lived there for six years. Had my daughter there and raised her there until she was five years old!!!!
4y
TK-421 @wanderinglynn Yes, there‘s one spot left. @Geekstress We have a Litsy writing group on the Nano site if you‘re interested in being part of that group in addition to your own 4y
Geekstress I would love that @TK-421 !!! 4y
TK-421 Ok, I‘ll send the invite! 4y

@Mandigolightly asked what was our ultimate book of 2019. I realized I was fortunate to have more than a few!
“The Book of Joy” by Dalai Lama and Desmond Tutu was life changing. I would gift it to every human on the planet if I could.

Mandigolightly That‘s great! I‘ll add that to my tbr! 4y

This is book related as I firmly believe Wikipedia has done a great deal for literature. We have learned so much about books and their authors through this website. And so much more!
I just donated to Wikipedia for less than $3! Support free knowledge!

Mehso-so

My only issue was the insistence by the author that a narcissist is always insecure as well. Outdated idea that this fact is always true. Great deal of research shows that is no longer always the case. Repeating this fact was irritating. However, book does offer some good insights, interestingly enough. I would not make this your first or only book on the topic due to this issue. But it is worth a read.

I wished I loved it as much as everyone else did. But there are so many better books out there. So much better literature available. I wonder if it is because people don‘t go back far enough, read older books, better books written about destiny. But that‘s me. Please don‘t let that keep you from reading it as many others have loved it. I just was not impressed at all. I was actually bored.

#Two4Tuesday
I am late but here is mine:
1. Excellent character development. The story needs to pull me in and make me want to stay and keep wanting to know what happens next.
2. No particular time. Just moments I can steal away.
@TheSpineView

TheSpineView Never too late! I too love character driven stories. Thanks for playing! 😊 5y

“Seeing Gender” is a must book for everyone. Not only does it help you with your gender pronouns but it provides education for us straight folks about ourselves. Beautifully illustrated and is written for all. Read it, then pass it along. The hardback is fantastic quality and an instant classic to navigate in today‘s world.

Wish I could gift this to every human in the world. This book made me laugh and filled me with joy. And brought me so much wisdom from three amazing men. I now put this in the top five life-changing, favorite books of my entire life. It is amazing, entertaining, uplifting, educating, and keeps you locked in and wanting more. No matter what your religion (or even if you are an atheist), you will find something here. I know this from experience.

mitch245 I totally agree! I'm not done the book yet but am halfway through and it's such an eye opener! 5y

This book was introduced to me when I was 14 years ago. It remains in my top three all time. It resonates with me. This story cannot be told enough.

Godislove Which human morality is expressed by the story the most? 5y

A right of passage for this young geek girl. I read it years ago. And recently enjoyed it again through Audible. A true classic.
