Honest and laugh-out-loud hilarious -- exactly what you want from a comedy writer's memoir. So good!

June books! Most of 'em anyway.

I don't mean to be hyperbolic, but I'm on page one and this is already my new favorite book. The epigraph is Frank Turner, the first sentence is about the Bee Girl, and the Esquire excerpt is about an Indigo Girls encounter at a college leadership conference. Best best best.

Hooked right away. I don't know what I was expecting but this is really good so far.

I was skeptical about the premise -- and still am -- and I'm not sure I got much more out of it than learning how Wednesday Martin got a Birkin. That said, reading about extreme privilege like that is always pretty interesting, and it was a quick read.

Top-notch crime fiction. Set in DC with a fascinating narrator and blurbed by Tana French -- I loved it.

Smart and funny and feminist -- I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Steven Rowley almost lost me in the middle (but didn't!), and oh I loved the beginning and the end. Lily! ❤️

That cover! That title! It has to be delightful. I can't wait to read this one.

I loved this strange, tiny book, and not just because it has such a pretty cover.

I can't quite decide how I feel about this one! On the one hand, I didn't want to put it down. On the other hand, parts of it felt overwritten and much was excessively grotesque.

I read this memoir in one sitting this morning. Diane Guerrero's parents were deported to Colombia when she was fourteen -- her story is an important and timely addition to the current conversation about immigration.

I loved getting immersed in the restaurant industry in the first half of the book. I wanted it to go farther or give me something more in the second half, though. Still a fun read for the most part.

Absolutely delightful -- funny and charming and tender. I loved it for the same reasons I loved Where'd You Go, Bernadette?, The Family Fang, and The Rosie Project.

What Karin Slaughter fan has two thumbs and is excited about this ARC? This girl.

Ohhhh, I'm so excited for this ARC my boss brought home from BEA! Love a memoir, love child stars, love Mara Wilson. Can't wait.

"'You are so bad!' is Southern Lady code for: That is the tackiest thing I‘ve ever heard and I am delighted that you shared it with me." This is wholly accurate. I laughed out loud through American Housewife.

I recommended this to at least a dozen people last year because it was just. that. good. The best first chapter I've read in I don't know how long -- it's a first chapter that demands to be read again as soon as you finish the book.

My book of last year, of the last five years, of the last decade. It crippled me and I loved every single tear-stained page.

I'm only thirty pages in and already in love.

"True crime" at its most sensitive and best. Sanders' beautiful portrayal of the victims and compassionate examination of the perpetrator are unmatched. I was so moved.

So much more than a mystery! Loved this beautiful book about survival, resilience, and the bond between mothers and daughters.
