I'm giving this one a second read. The descriptive writing brings this story to life. I'm really enjoying this journey.

It was a quick read into the psyche of a user who enjoys using but eventually gets used. He battles addiction but the real battle is with himself. I wanted to like the character more than I did.
Mosley is my favorite author and he delivers again with charcoal Joe. Easy takes on a case at the request of his friend Mouse. Bullets and fists are going to fly and people are going to die. Great food is consumed along with love and loss. I get so engrossed in the struggle that I feel like I'm right in there with Easy.
Of course it's butter side up.
The master of mystery does an equally brilliant job of bringing characters and stories to life in these science fiction mini novels.
A suspenseful man vs man, man vs nature page turner. It has a real deliverance feel to it. Matheson paces the story with precision.
Colon Whitehead gives detailed examples of the cruelty and inhumanity of slavery within Cora's story. A fictional account of something all too real. Entertaining but also heart breaking. A must read.
