❤️ Oh, Nikolai ❤️ I absolutely loved this series and read it way too fast. The way Leigh Bardugo describes emotions is the exact way they feel to me, so this book gave me so many feels. I wasn't thrilled with the ending. I really thought it would turn out the way I was hoping, but I forgive it for that because the story that led us there was so rich and wonderful.

Words can't describe how much I loved this series. The worlds are so beautiful and rich, the characters so deep and multi-faceted. "We'll live in birds and flowers and dragonflies and pine trees and in clouds and in those little specks of light you see floating in sunbeams... And when they use our atoms to make new lives, they won't just be able to take one, they'll have to take two, one of you and one of me, we'll be joined so tight."

As my form of therapy for spending an arm and a leg on school supplies, and the reality of both of my kids being in school this year, I paid a visit to the library. Now to decide which to read first...

I really enjoyed this book! It was a very quick read. The writing was a bit clunky and juvenile at times, but it didn't detract much from the really great premise of the book. It was fun, beautiful, and suspenseful. I'm ready to start the second of the series.

Deciding which bookmark to use (all made for me by my daughter) is almost as hard as deciding which book to read next!

I love the Guardian series so much. I love William Joyce's writing style, I love reading them aloud with my children, and I love the illustrations. They are gorgeous books. We are currently halfway through Sandman, which is book four in the series.

I absolutely loved this book. The characters and their motivations were believable, there was plenty of world-building, and the battle of good vs evil wasn't as clearcut as I expected it to be. I especially loved the not-so-subtle secular leanings. I can't wait to read the rest of the series!

This started rather slow but it was recommended to me so I wanted to give it a fair chance. I'm glad I did! I'm a bit more than halfway through now and loving it.

Ugh. Another one bites the dust. I'm about a hundred pages in, and all but ONE female character has been described solely in terms of the main character's desire and/or ability (or lack thereof) to sleep with her. No thank you.

I'm feeling a little discouraged after bailing on 2/3 of the last books I picked, so I hope these grab me!

I just couldn't get into this book. I didn't care for the writing style or the twisted fairy tale theme.

I'm having a very hard time getting into this book even though I really wanted to like it. It switches subject, time, and setting so often, and has so many characters that it's just rather muddled to me. Does it improve or should I bail?

This was a very quick, easy read. A great book with characters you come to love and hate. It's a nice twist on the typical dystopian zombie book.

I stopped at the library to find a book full of magic and wonder. I came home with these four. I'll start them all, then buy the ones that grab me.

Now it's the kids' turn! We are reading the illustrated version aloud (and listening to the audiobook to give my voice a break). They are loving it!
