This Norse fantasy novel spins the tale of Raef Skallagrim, fierce warrior and son of a lord who disagrees with Raef‘s desire to go to sea. Raef attends an important gathering with his father that ends in chaos and tragedy and as a result he is catapulted into war and the promise of revenge. There is plenty to enjoy here: battles, strategy, myth, betrayal, and mystery that is woven throughout. Well-written with an interesting plot and characters.
