“A moment of discomfort or a lifetime of discontent.” One of the quotes by my favourite characters who never even physically appears in this book!
"She's herself...not a slave to fashion or society's expectations." Callie Browning
A reviewer said my book is like a “grown-up Nancy Drew”. Best thing I‘ve ever heard.

The lovely Rebel Women‘s Lit invited me to their book club last Friday and I thoroughly enjoyed discussing my book, The Girl with the Hazel Eyes.
“All we have in this life is time.” Susan Taylor, The Girl with the Hazel Eyes.
Susan flashed another infuriating smirk at Lia. “That‘s settled. I‘ll tell you everything you want to know about me. The good, the bad, and the reason you‘re really here: the scandal that rocked the Caribbean.”
I absolutely adored this book. The characters, plot and pacing are all marvelous.
It started off great and the beautiful writing structure continued throughout the book. But in the end, I found it to be a missed opportunity for a subject as grave as this. I also found it a bit too referential and about 100 pages too long. Some judicious editing would have made it a 5 star read for me even with bland ending.
So one of my book buddies told me about My Dark Vanessa and I admit I‘m kind of hooked in a sick twisted way given the subject matter.
Definitely a four star read for me. The writing was sharp and insightful. The characters are deep and dimensional even if some of them are unlikeable. I really enjoyed this book.

Currently reading. I‘ve already formed a different opinion from what was portrayed in the media and it‘s only the first chapter.
This was an incredible book. My 3rd five star read for the year.
This was literary ambrosia. I loved it and gave it 5 sparkling stars. It was beautifully constructed and the two main characters were well developed. My only qualm was that when I closed the book, I wasn‘t left pondering any character tensions. The plot wrapped up so tidily that it was a little convenient.
Had to pick this up at the bookstore because I just love historical fiction. What‘s your favourite historical fiction book?

Currently reading this. I‘m a little bogged down by how overly descriptive it is but I‘ll see how I feel by the end of chapter two.
This wasn‘t my favourite. All of the characters are too angry and none of them seem to have a good day. I didn‘t come away with the warmest feelings about it.
I started off loving this book, but that changed.
