This was funny and sweet and gave me so many feelings! A great read-alike for fans of The Fault in Our Stars
I love the premise of this trilogy, but there was something a bit forced about this first one - too much world building maybe? Or perhaps it's just a bit too long? I'm looking forward to seeing where the story goes now that the world is set up
Loved this book! I think it's a great read for fans of The Scorpio Races ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Its @bookriot #riotgrams time! Day one prompt is Shelfie - this is my mostly unread mostly #loveOzYA shelf!
I loved this - it is amazing the way that Daphne du Maurier can describe something so that I can see it clearly, but I never feel over explained to 💕
#currentlyreading Draekora - I love this series and am excited to be up to date on time for book 4 at the start of February!
I love this series! Currently catching up on the released books so I'm ready for book 4 (Graevale) when it comes out at the start of Feb 😊
January TBR is travelling well! I have already finished The Woman in the Window and Zenith (both of which I loved!), And have started Rebecca already.
I won an advance review copy of this from Dymocks. 😊I enjoyed the writing, I thought Anna (for all her flaws and self-destructive behaviours) was a likeable narrator, and - as is generally the case with thrillers - there was a mix of plot points that I predicted and that were surprises. Something I really liked was that as well as following the main thriller part of the story forward we also learn about Anna's past - how she ended up where she is
Finally starting on Rebecca - it's my Christmas break homework for bookclub 🙂🎄
Finished this one today - it was very sweet and a lot of fun, but with some serious stuff in there too. I think the stage show would be amazing.
"Every step you take away from last Christmas brings you one step closer to the next" ???
I hadn't heard of this book before I won it in a giveaway from Allen & Unwin, but when it arrived it sounded so good I started reading right away. I loved it! It's near future (I think) dystopian YA, with kind of a creepy Stephen King vibe at the start. This would be a perfect read for fans of the Divergent or Darkest Minds series, and also has a bit of a Hunger Games feel. I have it 4.5 stars and can't wait to get the sequel.
My revised (and significantly reduced!) Christmassy TBR for the remainder of the festive season 🎅🏼
Today's kids christmas book is That Christmas Feeling by Lili Wilkinson and Amanda Francey - this is a beautiful book about a little girl called Dottie who is staying with her grandparents and having trouble finding her Christmas sparkle without her mum and dad. This is the perfect read for kids whose christmas is a bit different than usual this year (don't worry - it has a very happy ending! 😜) 📚🎄💕

Time for a coffee and a chapter before my friends arrive for our cookie decorating party!
Loved this! So nice to read some Christmassy romance set in summer 🙂 the first story was my favourite! Check out my blog for a more detailed review 🎄✨ #christmasread
I found this a bit slow to get going, but once it did I really enjoyed it. I think it would make a great Hallmark movie! #christmasread
I received this novel in the blind date book swap at our bookclub christmas lunch this week. It's been on my radar for ages and I'm looking forward to finally reading it!
I'm so excited to have won this gorgeous book from Harlequin Teen Australia in an instagram giveaway! It's going straight to my 2018 TBR!
I'm up to the last (of five) short story in this collection - I'm loving it!
My 3yr old and I loved this picture book about making friends, making amends, and helping each other out. And the illustrations are so full of movement and joy - so beautiful!
I loved this - it was Indiana Jones meets Tomb Raider meets Sleeping Giants in space. Super twisty - I had no idea what was going to happen next! And the cover is shiny! 😍
This one definitely lived up to its hype! I loved it!
I enjoyed this story (it made me nostalgic for Denmark!), But I didn't love how hard Bo was on herself. Overall a pretty fun read though
This was a sweet enough read, but I feel like I would have enjoyed it more if I had read the others in the series first (so many characters!!!)
I'm enjoying reading some cosy Christmas romance set in Australia (also enjoying the sunshine!)
Starting Wednesday with coffee and a book. =) I'm going to see Chris Womersley speak about City of Crows on the weekend, hoping to have it read by then.
I loved this! Perfect for fans of Daughter of the Burning City!
I have some mixed feelings about this - I didn't really love the writing in the beginning, but then it changed at the same time as the protagonist had a sort of transformation, so maybe the writing was like that on purpose? The last third or so of the book had a kind of Anne Rice feel to it. I'll be reading the sequel.
Kind of Handmaid's Tale-ish and a bit Lord of the Flies, this was creepy and cult-y and I loved it.
I loved this! I was warned that it was slow to start, which it is, but I felt like it developed perfectly, and really enjoyed the whole thing. Looking forward to getting my hands on the sequel!
This was really weird! But I liked it (I actually liked it more after I finished than while I was reading). Also, a bit funny.
Possibly the most beautiful book I've ever read! All the stars (and a couple of tissues 😭) for this one!
I loved this book! I was so excited to get onto the next one in the series that I missed reviewing it here. 😆 This series has completely blown me away - it definitely deserves more hype than I've seen for it - and this was probably my favourite of the three books so far. (PS pre-work books and breakfast is my current favourite indulgence. 😊)
I liked this more than I expected to! I enjoyed getting to know the characters and was impressed with the character development/growth in such a short read. The book deals with a couple of issues that could be triggering, so find out more before you start if that is something you need
This was a fun read. I wasn't entirely satisfied with the resolution of the mystery, but enjoyed the rest of the book so much I was willing to forgive. This book deals with a bunch of issues in a Degrassi high kind of way - if you look for trigger warnings I'd suggest finding out more before you start.
"Another secret of the universe: Sometimes pain was like a storm that came out of nowhere. The clearest summer morning could end in a downpour. Could end in lightning and thunder."
I'm loving this one. 😍
This series - The Blood of Gods and Royals - has completely blown me away! Reign of Serpents is book 3, and think there is just one more to come. It's a kind of Game of Thrones-ish telling of Alexander the Great, with the violence and sex dialled back to Young Adult. I'm loving the many POVs and don't know how I'm going to survive until book 4 comes!
I decided I wanted to read all the books by Ernest Hemingway. My father decided he would read everything that I read. Maybe that was our way of talking.
Just finished this - I loved it!!!
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5. if you need me I'll be over there with my eyeballs glued to the next book in the series 😍📚
