Does anybody ever suffer from reader's block? Like, there's times when you know you should be reading but you can't just bring yourself to do it?

Hey Litsy family so glad to be back and posting again!!
I just finished reading "Around the Way Girl" by Taraji. An funny, thought-provoking memoir that gives a glimpse into the life of an actress I've been following since I was a teenager.
I always liked Taraji she's defied so many odds to establish herself as an actress esp being a single black mom from the SE side of DC. This memoir is great for current fans & future fans.
I had never heard of Kathleen Collins before reading this intriguing collection of short stories. I'm not the biggest fan of short stories, but Collins writes in a way that allows us a full view of her characters, with all of their quirks & nuances.
My favorite story had to be "Dead Memories...Dead Dreams". There's a richness & vibrancy that makes it stand out as an engaging & thought-provoking tale.
Longbourn is an honest retelling of the Pride & Prejudice story. The focus on the lives of the Bennet servants really made this book original. I rooted for Sarah & James' love & I empathized with Sarah's desire to lead a more rewarding life.
Although, it was well written I did find Longbourn to be a bit drawn out & I sometimes struggled to really get into the story. But it's a book I still would recommend
Powerful. Magical. Loving.
What more can I say? Mama Day brought me to tears.
When you're still upset about the election, so you buy some books to cheer you up 😄

"In vain have I struggled. It will not do. My feelings will not be repressed. You must allow me to tell you how ardently I admire and love you."
I still have time to post for #nationalcatday right?

"You mean to frighten me, Mr. Darcy, by coming in all this state to hear me? But I will not be alarmed...There is a stubbornness about me that never can bear to be frightened at the will of others. My courage always rises with every attempt to intimidate me."

"Nobody gave you to me. Nobody said that's the one for you. I picked you out...Don't ever think I fell over you. I didn't fall in love, I rose in it. I saw you and made up my mind. My mind."
