April Soto is overwhelmed with her life and takes off on a day-trip to gain some perspective...This turns into the 10-day journey that will shape the rest of her life. When her daughter, Noelle, turns 18 she receives a letter from April detailing her trip.
This story was heartbreaking and beautiful all at once thanks to Alegría Hudes writing.

Next up on audio…Already invested on this one!
And I didn‘t even read the synopsis 🤭

After not liking Audition but LOVING A Separation, I had to give Kitamura another chance.
The setting for this could not be more perfect, the story, even the MC being an interpreter (I'm an interpreter, also). The way Kitamura was able to capture in such a short book the essence of the work, the life that the MC was entering into, the people she met along the way, it was just perfection.
Loved! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Current audiobook…Giving Kitamura another chance after being so disappointed with Audition.

This is my favorite Emily Henry book that I‘ve read so far.
As always, the banter was so on point!
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I‘m not usually a fan of slow-burn, but this one worked for me and kept me coming back to the story.
🌶 was just right!
Looking forward to reading more from this author.

Book club pick, I‘m so behind and library loan expires in about 3 days 😮💨
Already intrigued just by reading first 2 chapters.

I went into this audiobook totally blind and was pleasantly surprised that it was about Dahlia‘s life: How she grew up, health challenges, education and becoming a feminist.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Currently reading…The mixed reviews here on Litsy just made me more intrigued 😅

3.5⭐️
The premise of this book is unique and that is what drew me to the story. It started it off strong, but started losing some steam at around 50%.
There were some memorable moments on this that makes the story one that I probably won‘t forget.
Overall, a good story about friendship and motherhood.
Lucille: I hate you…

I hated it here…

Current audiobook…This one was not really on my radar, but I liked the movie trailer and decided to check it out.

This one is a big fail for me, not holding my attention at all. It saddens me because I had high hopes for this one.

I‘m glad I was sent an ARC copy of this memoir because it introduced me to Ms. Davis‘ life and work.
Her experiences working in Black media gave us a rare unpolished look of what really goes on behind the scenes.
Loved how she feels honest and unpretentious when presenting her life to us throughout the pages.
How she had to constantly fight for space just because she was judged for the color of her (lighter) skin.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Out now!

In Palaver, Washington sticks to the same theme as in Memorial, so the book felt familiar and that sometimes is a good thing.
I liked reading this story slowly, it was not trying to take me somewhere I've never been and I felt that I was reading about the lives of people I knew.
The supporting characters on this story were great and I enjoyed following the evolution of those relationships.
👇🏽

I used to be a Sister Wives fan and I used to get so annoyed with Christine because I felt that she was whiny and jealous all the time.
What I didn‘t see was that she was just fighting for her happiness and the love she was promised but never received.
This memoir made me tear up a few times. I‘m so glad she found the courage to leave and ended up finding her soulmate.
LOVED!
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Current audiobook…I used to be a big Sister Wives fan and to be honest, Christine was the one I didn‘t really get.
Listening to her recount her experience is making me look at her in another light and with more empathy.

Loved this audiobook. Took me a little to get into it at first, but when I got the hang of it, I couldn‘t stop.
This was not the story I was expecting but I love how unapologetic and real it felt.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

This looked so promising, but I found it hard to keep track of the different POVs, and I felt that when the focus pivots suddenly to a traumatic situation (at about 50%, which is told in a VERY long chapter), and one character‘s experience becomes the central part of the story, the rest of the teammates‘ experiences are pushed to the side.

Having such a wonderful time reading about her life.

What I mostly liked about this story is that it was very straightforward, even though there are quite a few jumps in the timeline.
István‘s life was a hot mess and I ate this up in less than 48 hours!

Started this yesterday and I‘m already at 50%. Have to say I‘m enjoying this more than I thought I would!

Giving up at 52%. I was enjoying it for the first 30% or so, but I keep picking this back up and wishing I was reading something else 😅

I've been craving a story like this for a while and I finally found it! The story centers around Maricarmen and her daughter, Nena, as they navigate life in a Puerto Rican project.
Maricarmen falls in love with Rey, the neighborhood's resident musician and bad boy. After Rey is murdered, it is up to Maricarmen to make a life for herself, Nena and Rey's brother, Tito.
👇🏽

I had very mixed emotions while reading this. The most prevalent one was that the story did not move fast enough and that this story was not unique.
This book will not change your life, but it will grow on you if you are patient.
I am glad I did not give up on this one, because I would've missed out on the wonderful descriptions, the travel stories, the love.

Current audiobook…This has been on my TBR for a while and was so happy that it was picked as the alternate selection on one of my book clubs this month.

Absolutely LOVED this! I‘m so glad I got to listen to this audiobook version, it was magnificent.

Majumdar's newest novel was so intense, I had physical reactions while reading it. This story is about love and family, but told in such a way that it raises so many questions within you, one of the main being: Who is more worthy?
Your perception will constantly be shifting while reading this, and you will be forced to ask yourself some questions that might be uncomfortable.
👇🏽

The author's writing in this book is exquisite, but I could've done without the last 5% of the book, sometimes a story does not need an epilogue.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I‘ve never read Pride and Prejudice, (watched the movie a couple of times). So when I found out about this cast on an Audible Original I jumped at the chance.
Finished Part 1 and it is SOOO good!

So sad to say goodbye to this series! I loved all 3 books, but Hendrix‘s story will hold a special place in my heart ❤️
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

This book deals with very dysfunctional family dynamics, a mystery waiting to be solved and a journalist who has a big stake in the story and will not give up.
I kept thinking I had the case solved and Berry just kept introducing plot twist after plot twist that sometimes made me gasp out loud.
Shedding light on the disappearance of Black girls that are swept under the rug makes this story a must-read for everyone.
Loved, LOVED this!

This book is so intense that I‘m having physical reactions while reading it. I step away for a bit and come back to it because I can‘t put it down. #arc

3rd book done! This series gets more intense with each installment.
This has been my favorite so far even though I wanted to vomit 50% of the time I spent reading it 🤢
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

After DNFing Isola (I could not handle the suffering), I was happy to be given the opportunity to read Goodman‘s upcoming novel, and I can already tell you this is going to be a win with me. Loving this messy family story! #arc
*Coming February 2026*

Finally getting to this. I‘ve been looking forward to Hendrix‘s story!

I was so annoyed with Sherry for the entirety of this story that it kind of prevented me from thinking about anything else when it comes to this book.
She was so overbearing, I already forgot everyone else‘s storyline. I feel that this story could‘ve been balanced better. The ending left me completely unsatisfied.
Also, Adam‘s story was built up so much and the book ended and I kept waiting for…something more.
⭐️⭐️

I felt like I was still reading the first book and kept waiting for something to happen. Gave up at 40%

When I first started reading this I felt like it was not the book for me. Because I went in with expectations of what I wanted this book to be, and it was giving me something else: A story I was wanting to read but didn‘t know it yet.
I did not expect to be rooting for Xiomara the way that I did, her aimlessness, her grief, were so vividly depicted by the author that all you were left with were whispers of: “Yes, you can do this, you can.” 👇🏽

Read this to see what the hype was about, and I get it now!
Took me exactly a month to read this, but I‘m glad I took my time with it, because I sometimes felt that this was way too long.
*Please read all trigger warnings before starting this*
Looking forward to reading the next book!
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Starting this and hoping to finish before the #Booker shortlist is announced.

Went into this one because I loved the cover. As with any short story collection, I liked some more than others, but I had a good time reading this, overall.
⭐️⭐️⭐️ #arc

Wonderful debut!
I became very invested in the story early on (Morrow's narrative does not really give you space for anything else), and as the layers of the story started to unfold, you just keep wanting to know more.
This story touches on so many topics: race, class, privilege, friendships, family.
The only thing I have to say about the betrayal mentioned in the synopsis: WTF?!
Loved!
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ #arc
Out today!

Really enjoyed this. Felt that Piñeiro‘s journalist side shined through on this book. The plot twists on this one were the least shocking to me, since the way situations were handled in the story are still very common in Latin America, unfortunately.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I will finally admit to myself that one sided-conversations in books are not for me.
I do appreciate what this book is doing and it did open up a few perspectives for me when it comes to polyamory. But, I would‘ve have enjoyed this more if I had some POV of the other parties involved.
That being said: Did I enjoy the spiraling this unnamed character had throughout this story? Absolutely!
3.5⭐️ #arc Out tomorrow!

A story that gives you so much to think about. Riki becomes a surrogate for Motoi and Yuko, mostly because she is tired of struggling in Tokyo. All parties go into this believing that it would just be a business transaction, but so much more comes into play.
Loved this book! The ending was not what I expected, which made me love this even more.
Can't wait to read more from this author.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ #arc

This was beautiful! It took me way too long to finish this, but when I picked it back up recently, I could not put it down.
Loved Hannah, Sam and Hannah‘s bubbe! The remaining cast of characters are also memorable.
This novel was written with so much care and humanity. Finding out at the end that the author is also an oncology nurse makes sense and makes it even more special.
Read this!! #arc
