Marie Lu manages to keep the action coming, but takes the time to flesh out her characters. Looking forward to the 3rd book in the trilogy!

If there's one thing I've learned, it's this: We all want everything to be okay. We don't even wish so much for fantastic or marvelous or outstanding. We will happily settle for okay, because most of the time, okay is enough.

The Marvels was not my favorite book by Brian Selznick, but it was still wonderful in its illustrations, imagination, and emotion.
