This is one of my all time favorite TL books. Hansel and Gretel by Holly Hobbie is a great RT for children? This book is full of amazing illustration and just an all around good book about two children taken into the woods and left. As they try to find their way home the come upon a cottage in the woods made of candy. The witch inside locks them in a cage and wants to fatten them up to cook them in her oven. #UCFLAE3414F19

This novel is great for any LC or IR This novel is about 3 sisters who are sent to spend the summer with their mother who left them. When they get to Oakland and their mom she is nothing like they thought she would be. The girls have to fend for themselves along with being caught up with the Black Panthers.
