Wotakoi: Love is Hard for Otaku, volume 2

Definitely a favorite nerdy rom-com series 😉 Loving all the otaku references. Lastly, I enjoy seeing how Narumi and Hirotaka are both growing as individuals as they “date” each other ❤️. Love it.

Wotakoi volume 1

Love, love, love this series so far! An otaku is a Japanese term for a passionate nerdy/geeky collector/hobbyist. And this series is about the relationship between two childhood otaku friends who end up dating each other. It‘s great 😊 Want a nerdy rom-com? Check this out 😉

Finally got my Curse Words vol 1 for the #cbbr #wevegotissues hosted by @TricksyTails and @GrilledCheeseSamurai . Even though I‘m late, I still plan to participate and read 😬

As for the other book, it‘s Wotakoi: Love is Hard for Otaku vol 1. I‘m excited for this adorable otaku shoujo series. The anime is also currently airing and quite enjoyable to watch ❤️

theresidentromantic A new shojo I actually haven't watched all of already? I don't think I can sign on fast enough. 7y
Serotonin @theresidentromantic there are 3 I‘m watch this Spring season - which is unusual for me 😅 7y
theresidentromantic @Serotonin I was keeping up with new releases a a year or two ago and then after a few that only got one season and I had to read the manga for the rest, I got really frustrated. Like it's not a commitment to a new show, it's a really long ad for the book, which isn't how I view anime. But still, the shojo drought is real. 7y

Serotonin @theresidentromantic yeah...unless the series is really popular, shoujo anime typically run only for a season (2 , sometimes 3 at most) 😆 Therefore I get really excited when the manga is available to read and collect. But then sometimes the manga may get discontinued before completion so I need to track down and read scanlations. The worst is when the mangaka stops all-together...and I‘ll never get closure 😱😱😱 7y
TricksyTails Yayyyyyyyy!! 👏😍 And you‘re not late at all! You‘ve got until the first Sunday of next month to read it! So happy you‘ve joined us. 😊 7y
Jadedbooklover I think you'll like Wotakoi, super relatable to adult women who geek out and even better the mangaka is a woman who self published online so I'm more than happy to support women mangaka who break from the overly gender conforming shoujo circuit (I almost exclusively read josei now). Now for my bookstore to get a shipment! (edited) 7y
Serotonin @Jadedbooklover that‘s wonderful about the mangaka 👍👍👍😊 7y
Serotonin @Jadedbooklover I also enjoy reading josei as well. Are they any that you recommend? 7y
Jadedbooklover @Serotonin princess jellyfish, and nana are good starters 7y
Serotonin @Jadedbooklover I like Princess Jellyfish (the anime is cute, and would love to watch the live action). NANA...is one that I don‘t think I‘ll ever have my closure because the mangaka stopped writing it (right?) 7y
Jadedbooklover @Serotonin yeah she got ill a few years back and she's barely drawn since so it may not finish. But there are her previous manga, paradise kiss that's complete and pretty good too. 7y
