So I actually managed to come away from #Wordstock this Sat with LESS books than I got signed (I was VERY restrained...we also ran out of time and energy to spend too long in #Powells). The bottom 2 are signed by authors there, April Henry and Amber Keyser, and check it out, I got one of those ARCs USED in the store; it hasn‘t been released yet! Next time, me and @Acgamble88 must do the whole day in #Powells. Anyone else for a #Portland roadtrip?

Meeting the author of one of my favorite books so far this year, Emily Suvada, was one of the highlights of #Wordstock #PDXBookfest and it was fabulous to have her recognize me from my unabashed ‘fangirling‘ (although she kindly called it support) on Twitter. I finished her book last night and can NOT wait until #2! I‘ll say it again: read this book! *Note how I‘m already looking tired at this point! I was up at 5am...🤔
Just one of the amazing authors I met today, Julie C. Dao; the panel she was on with Emily Suvada and Fonda Lee was excellent, plus Julie graciously signed not one but THREE copies of her book for me. One for me, plus two for friends. She spoke about her writing process extensively, says she‘s a Hufflepuff and is keeping mum about the title of her 2nd book (although I know what it is) #Wordstock #PDXBookfest #Portland
I went to #Wordstock and all I got was this incredible collection of poetry, important questions to consider from talented writers, meaningful conversations about Privilege with strangers, and random free things. Ugh! 💚 #PDXBookFest
My son Roman has had trouble believing that #LemonySnicket exists as a real person so this was the first photo that had to be taken today at #Wordstock #PDXBookfest... He was having fun with this one! PS. His real name is Daniel Handler, by the way, and he‘s hilarious.
So THIS is the stack of books I am taking to #Wordstock tomorrow that I will be attempting to get signed (and that‘s not including ones I might buy 🙀)! I even bought a little cheapo hand dolly because I can‘t carry them all (I have MS and I know it will kill me to do so). The bottom 3 include 2 for friends. I hope I get to see everyone! Getting up to drive down at 6am because we couldn‘t go as planned tonight 😫 #Portland
You guys! I can‘t put this down now I‘ve started it. I breezed through 105 pages that I insanely decided to start at about 1am in the morning, and since the author #EmilySuvada (who responded to my email just to send in my preorder receipt) will be at #Wordstock on Saturday, I have become just TOO excited. She used to be a data scientist and it shows. This is in the #YA section but it‘s not ‘fluffy‘, it‘s cerebral. And look at that cover!
Taking all these to Yallfest this weekend to try and get signed. Obviously I️ have very high hopes. Anybody want to stand in line for me Saturday? 😂
