Such a beautiful title & cover ... midway I did like it it a bit better ... I bailed about three-fourths in .. a late bail I just never really got drawn in & I felt there was a lot of over-explaining ... so, ultimately a bail. #unpopularopnion

sisilia I was underwhelmed by this book 😜 I enjoyed Homegoing, though. I think it has smart structure, and it‘s fast-paced. Totally different from the tagges book 4y

⭐️⭐️ The ONLY thing I liked about this was the book store setting. The second person narrative style was cute for about two chapters, then it became annoying and exhausting, especially for a book over 400 pages. And, for me, a small amount of this type of violence goes a very long way, and there was far more than I was expecting. I found it disgusting, not entertaining.

Prairiegirl_reading I really appreciate these kinds of reviews. I suspected that the level of violence was higher than I could handle but so many people seem to love this it always makes me curious. You saved me from that!! Thanks! 6y

britt_brooke @Prairiegirl_reading Thank you! I felt like the description didn‘t hint enough at the amount of violence. Had I known it would be multiple circumstances, I wouldn‘t have read it. The only reason I didn‘t bail is that I wanted to know how it ended. I should‘ve just googled it. 😬 6y

aa_guer2021 I got through this because it was a choice of the reading group I was part of. It was incredibly tough to keep reading for very, very personal reasons. So this might not be such an #unpopularopinion 6y

ericarobynreads I had to bail on this one. I like horror but this one was far too unsettling for me. The stalker element was hard to read. 6y

britt_brooke @ericarobynreads I‘m not a horror fan, but thought this might be an enjoyable fast-paced thriller (I don‘t read many thrillers either, but the hype got me), but it was definitely not for me. I wasn‘t expecting Joe to murder multiple people on top of being a creepy asshole. It was just WAY too much. 6y

Slowly chugging away on the audiobook.
#UnpopularOpnion: Only just got hooked about halfway through- maybe it's the audio presentation but I've been pretty bored with it during the beginning and disinterestedly wondering why I should care about Monique.

Reviewsbylola I didn't necessarily care about Monique either. Evelyn's story was more developed. I thought TJR did a great job of including a dual storyline but making it minor enough that it didn't take anything from the main storyline. But I can see how others would disagree. 8y
