I use to be ashamed I read YA and Romance. The main reason I got a kindle was so I didn‘t want to be judged based on the books I read and on a kindle I could hide them and still enjoy them.

Since joining litsy I have grown out of that and now don‘t care what others think. Just because I‘m in my 30‘s and read YA (teen books) doesn‘t make me less of a reader.

#proudreader #thankyoulitsy

Lel2403 Absolutely, a guilty pleasure 6y
CindyMyLifeIsLit There are some great YA books out there! I recently read the Daughter of Smoke and Bone trilogy and loved it. 6y
Lovesbooks87 Up until about 6 months ago I hadn't picked up a young adult book in years. It has slowly became one of my favorite genres. I feel like some of the most powerful books that I have read this year have been a young adult books. I have learned a long time ago to read what I want to read. I am also a huge romance fan. Not every book is for everyone! That's what makes reading so great! Thanks for posting this! Love it! 💜💜 6y

WhatThePuck It's my favorite genre to read. I make myself read adult books, but I never have to make myself read a YA. 6y
ravenlee YA books move faster than their adult counterparts, in my experience. It makes it easier to read quickly and more. 6y
ravenlee Also, I saw some meme a while ago that was essentially - adult fiction: I am afflicted by ennui; perhaps I will cheat on my wife. YA: let‘s lead a revolution to overthrow this oppressive regime! 6y
Purrfectpages I still read YA and I‘m 41. No shame! 6y
inthegreensandblues As a recovering book snob, I now read in several genres I would have turned my nose up at before. I too am thankful that Litsy is a place where people are so open to all kinds of reading. ❤️ 6y
Schnoebs YAS!!! You deserve to love the books your reading without feeling shame 🙌🙌🙌❤️ 6y
That-Bookish-Hiker @Lel2403 @CindyMyLifeIsLit @WhatThePuck @ravenlee @StillLookingForCarmenSanDiego @Purrfectpages @inthegreensandblues @Schnoebs this is one of the many reasons Litsy is so amazing. Thank you all for your comments and I‘m happy to know I‘m not alone. 😁😁 6y
That-Bookish-Hiker @Lovesbooks87 that‘s so great! I have read some books I would have never picked up if it weren‘t for Litsy. I‘m so happy that we have this great reading community. 6y

I took a longer lunch today so I could finish this one. It was very good! It was touching and really liked the characters in this one. I love realistic characters. This was a read I classified as #blameitonlitsy but it doesn't feel right to blame a community for opening your eyes to a new author. So I'm changing it to #thankyoulitsy and I will definitely be checking out the other novels by this author everyone has raved about 😀

GypsyKat I loved this book! 💗💗💗 6y
LoverofLit You did it! I'm glad you enjoyed this one as well. And you're absolutely right. Both my #blameitonlitsy books were definitely more in the category of #thankyoulitsy 💕 6y
rekahlee Beartown! That one has really stuck with me 6y
TheDaysGoBy @LoverofLit I think most of the books I've read lately have ended up in the #thankyoulitsy category. I love this wonderful community! Just expands my love of reading even more ❤️ 6y
TheDaysGoBy @rekahlee I will definitely be adding it to my TBR 😀 6y

“Justyce is a good kid. An honor student. On his way to Yale. So, why is he the one in handcuffs?” Remarks on back cover. This first novel by Nic Stone is an attempt to examine current affairs through the lens of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.‘s teachings. #thankyoulitsy #fiercefeb #tobeyounggiftedandblack #blackhistorymonth

I loved this 💓. It was written in a sparing and gentle way, yet was brutal at times. I had been completely ignorant of this period of Korean/Japanese history. I came to love all the characters, so much so I wanted more time spent with the characters in the final third of the book - for me this book could have been twice as long! Rather than a #blameitonlitsy this is a #thankyoulitsy as I might not have discovered this otherwise.

Alwaysbeenaloverofbooks Love this cover!!! 💕 7y
AlaMich That's a much nicer cover than the US edition, with a photo of a pachinko game. 7y
Ms_T Wonderful review ❣️ 7y
JillR The cover is lovely isn‘t it @Alwaysbeenaloverofbooks & @alamich? It‘s the UK version. @ms_t I wish there was another installment, I don‘t feel finished! (edited) 7y

This inspirational anthology is a must read for anyone looking to understand why intersectionality is vital to the advancement of women's equality. As one of the essayists, Joelle Owusu, says: "without ALL women being included in the wide and varied spectrum, the fight for equality is useless."
