Mostly #MoreMehThanYeah 🤨If I had to choose one, it would be Hour of the Witch 🧙‍♀️ but all 5 books were 3 star reads.
February has yet to produce a five star read…I don‘t think I had a four star either but we still have 9 days to go.
In Olympic news my niece didn‘t have the cleanest program today but she kept her butt off the ice and can proudly call herself an Olympian 🙌🏻 In less than 8 months she went from no ice to Olympic ice 🤩

Cinfhen Ughhhhh @TrishB COVID bites SO BAD!!! One team had to withdraw YESTERDAY, day of competition (after being there for 2 + weeks ) because they tested positive for Covid & another team who was recovering from Covid completely fell apart due to exhaustion & lack of training the last week. It was so sad to watch. It was a weird Olympic experience and I can‘t wait to hear all the stories @merelybookish Apparently Hailey played ping pong with 👇🏽 3y

This was fine, entertaining at times but it was too long; felt dated & campy. The writing was a little off color, probably acceptable for the early 80‘s but I don‘t think it would get published today without some editing & polishing. A light pick. 🎉In non book news my niece qualified today and will skate at tomorrow‘s pairs long program. She has no chance to medal but her personal goal was to skate clean & advance and that‘s just what she did💕

Verity Oh! Big figure skating fan here and I think seen them on the tv! I‘m not going to say the surnames because you haven‘t - but they‘re in the pairs (my favourite) and her partner has skated at the Olympics before with a previous partner right? 3y

Cinfhen Yes @Verity !!!! This is his third Olympic appearance and my niece‘s first. They only began skating together in June and they made the qualifiers after 3 months of training. It‘s such a Cinderella story. Ice Dance seems to have more behind the scenes drama but I prefer the throws and lifts. So glad to hear you‘re a pairs fan. Which team/ teams do you like?? (edited) 3y

Verity @Cinfhen that‘s such an amazing achievement for them both. I will be watching them and cheering them on! I‘m in the Uk so I‘ve seen more of the European pairs this season than I have the rest of the world, but my current favourites are Sui and Han and Tarasova and Morosov. I have such a soft spot for Russian pairs - my all time faves are Voloszhar and Trankov (who I saw live at the Europeans a decade ago) - still think their 14 sp is genius. 3y

Cinfhen Agree, Tarasova/Morosov are excellent and Sui/Han are VERY graceful. Both teams are medal contenders, for sure. I used to like Vanessa James but now that she skates for Canada I‘m less impressed & she‘s had a TERRIBLE season. I‘m not a fan of the US qualifying teams either, I much prefer Audrey Lu. Everyone who made it deserves to be there and I‘m excited to cheer my niece on @Verity 🥳🥳🥳 3y

Verity @Cinfhen I used to like Vanessa James too, but I think her move to Canada has been handled terribly on every possible front and the more you hear about how her previous partner‘s behaviour was handled, the dodgier all of that sounds and the worse she looks. 3y

From the first sentence, which is pretty crass, we get to see what can happen when a stupid act is filmed, posted online and then goes viral. It was an ok story, but I got frustrated about halfway through when it became a bit ridiculous and too implausible for me. I‘m not sure I‘d pick up another one by this author.

Cinfhen Thanks for asking! She was coming off another injury/surgery so she was skating with a knee brace & she wasn‘t cleared to do all the elements😔 they placed 4th - not bad considering but they didn‘t qualify to go to Worlds in March. They missed too many international competitions and their overall scores weren‘t high enough😢 6y

Cinfhen My niece is completely fearless, I‘m amazed at what she can do and what she‘s put her body through. For only 16 it‘s a lot of wear & tear. But she loves to skate and she loves the discipline it takes to be an athlete 💪🏼💋 6y

Aladdin: A Read-Aloud Storybook | Random House Disney

#RockinMay Day 9 OK, so I went for the obvious... but I have a special affinity for Aladdin & Jasmine💕My niece & her pairs partner, skate to the Aladdin theme song and these past 9 months have been a truly #MagicCarpetRide for them. They've competed in 11 different countries, placed first in two competitions, placed third in another and overall finished 11th at Junior WORLD Championship (there was some shady scoring but that's how it goes)
