My favorite contemporary author is Tayari Jones. This is her #sophomorenovel though she's best known for her third book, Silver Sparrow. I cannot wait to read her new book in 2018! #jubilantjuly @RealLifeReading
No sophomore slump for some of my favorite fantasy authors. These three ladies continue to leave me in awe of their world building. I honestly don't know how they do it. #sophomorenovel #jubilantjuly
Curtis Sittenfeld's #sophomorenovel exemplifies the lacklustre follow-up to breakout success. In spite of some impressive advanced praise from Alice Munro on the back!

I absolutely loved her debut novel, and I can't wait to get my hands on her #sophomorenovel when it hit the shelves #jubilantjuly
What would Anne think of this cover for her #sophomorenovel? 😱 #sophomorenovel #jubilantjuly
Joshilyn Jackson is one of those authors who I don't think of as being a favorite, but when I look at her bibliography I realize that I have read most of her books and really enjoyed them. Her #sophomorenovel is not one that gets talked about much, but it's the only one I own, the only one I've read more than once, and it's one I really have a soft spot for. #jubilantjuly
#SophomoreNovel #JubilantJuly While figuring out which book to use for this post, I came across several articles about how writing a second book is so different from the first one. I'm glad Rowell was able to write such an amazing second novel, especially a YA title. Every time I'm in a bookstore and see that Rowell has a new book out, I become so giddy and can't wait to check it out.
