I squee‘d with joy when I saw this book on the new arrivals shelf at the library. Gwendy‘s Button Box is one of my absolute favorite books and I‘ve already read it 3 times in the last year. The sequel picks up in 1999, when Gwendy is 37. The button box magically reappears in her life and strange things start happening. Not as good as the original but a solid story and I would love to read more books about her. 4⭐️

This was a great suspense story. I knew there would be some sort of twist and I was waiting for it the whole time. I was not disappointed. Overall, a fast read that will keep you guessing and will be hard to put down until the end. 4⭐️

I saw this book in a library display and was intrigued. It tells the story of Mary Lemist Titcomb, a librarian and the founder of the bookmobile in 1905. The book is beautifully illustrated with gorgeous photos and text. A must read for any bibliophile. 5⭐️

A quick read with some good reminders about the differences between men and women, some spot on, others not so much. Worth reading as it takes less than an hour. 3⭐️

The story of Emmett Till is horrifying and one that a lot of people don‘t know about. If you want a quick overview of the case, this book is a good place to start. While not 100% factual, it is short and tells the bare bones of the story, although I wasn‘t a fan of the writing style, a lot of which is supposition. Still, it is worth reading and Emmett needs to be remembered. 3.5⭐️

I‘m surprised how much I loved this book! From the gorgeous cover to all of Reese‘s tidbits about growing up in the south, beautiful pictures and yummy recipes, this book made me feel warm and fuzzy inside and proud of my southern heritage. The negative reviews I‘ve seen on Goodreads mostly say it doesn‘t flow, it‘s too sappy, she‘s fake, etc, but I got the opposite from this. It made her seem more down-to-earth. 5⭐️ Recommended!

I‘ve always wanted to read this book and watch the movie. The book started out a little slow and was told in an odd style of writing, but I still found it compelling. It‘s the story of the 5 Lisbon sisters and how they all end up committing suicide over a year‘s span of time in the 70s. Sounds depressing and it definitely is in some ways, but it‘s interesting to see how suicide not only affects your family and friends, but an entire community. 4⭐️
